Before staying at this Marriot location do yourself a favor and take a look at the other Marriot locations nearby. I have been to both other locations and they are far more comfortable.
While this location is new, the apartments concept leaves much to question. First off, they will only clean your room 1 time every seven days. Oddly on the second day we had someone go in our room and replace just the towels unannounced.
The parking situation is a disaster. There's not enough parking. They have installed car lifts to make additional room but I'm fairly certain will only work with valet parking so it's not being used (yet). When the lot runs out of space you will need a security guard to walk a block over to a nearby lot and physically unlock the gate to let you in. The other Marriot locations have plenty of parking and this isn't an issue there.
On the second night we were there we got back to our room and heard what sounded like a jet engine idling/pulsing on the roof. We were near and under the roof top pool and I believe the water ran low and the pump was sucking air. When I took this issue to the front desk they told me they would fix the next day. It was midnight and we were tired and the only solution they could provide us was to move us to a different room. Wild. It wasn't fixed until midday the next day.
I would like to mention again that this is a new hotel. So I was very surprised when I went to step into the rooftop pool and ended up twisting my ankle and falling in on the stairs. Why? Because the little 1 inch by 1 inch square tiles are missing all over the stairs and all over the walls. In fact you can find them littered throughout the pool on the floor. There's also many of them spilled over into the overflow section of the infinity pool. The stairs of the pool in their current state are a danger. I've included a picture to show how many were missing where I fell.
I was surprised to learn at check-in that the rooftop bar and restaurant hadn't opened yet. It actually opened the Wednesday of the week we stayed there.
Laundry is free and they provide detergent at the front desk for free as well which is interesting since a cup of coffee in the lobby will cost you $4 plus tax.
Overall the apartments concept is a very strange one.
Edit- adding comments to the property response. You can see the residence inn from this property. Those rooms have spacious living space and the same kitchen setup. They also have tons of parking and a pool and restaurant/bar and free breakfast. The anxiety of coming home each day from whatever activity we were on wondering if we would have a parking spot is absolutely no fun at all. This property was squished into too small of a footprint to have spacious parking etc.
Also, after not seeing housekeeping all week they busted into our room 2 hours before checkout while we were naked. Awesome. I hope they were thrilled.
This is not a property i would choose to...
Read moreFive friends and I booked Casa Costera for a girls trip. The check in was smooth, but everything after was down hill. Room 713 (I believe)Day 1- our room was hot and stuffy, reeked of a mildew odor, and our carpet was wet. We informed the Manager (Miguel). Manager said that there had been a power outage and that he would send someone up to check out the smell. Day 2-Someone came the next morning and poured chemicals down the drains that only killed the odor for a few minutes. We asked to be moved into another room and was told that they were completely book. Later that night we returned back to the room and noticed ROACHES crawling on the kitchen counter. We immediately reported it to the Manager and was told that someone would come and spray, but no one did. We threw away all of our opened food and snacks( wasting money). Day 3- Still disappointed that the odor was still taking over the room and no one had came to spay for roaches we were uncomfortable staying in the room. I went to talk to the Manager about the lack of attention/ urgency that we were receiving and asked to be refunded for our ENTIRE stay of 3 nights. Manager apologized and promised to refund us for all nights, but since we booked with a 3rd party (Agoda) and it had already been paid in full that we would have to request the refund through Agoda first then he would approve it. As soon as my flight landed the next morning I called Agoda to request the refund and after Agoda reaching out to Casa Costera serval days/ weeks there was no response. Finally after email/ calling the hotel I reached the general manager and Sales manager to only be giving the run arounds for weeks and finally a month after trying to respectfully get our refund they only approved a ONE night refund when clearly everyday was unpleasant and unacceptable for the amount of money that was spent on the room rental( almost $500 a night) I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE. THE CASA COSTERA HOTEL GETS YOUR MONEY AND DON'T CARE HOW YOUR STAY GOES. I HAVE PROOF AND VIDEOS OF THE ROACHES AND MILDEW. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY! IT WAS A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY & I'D RATHER CAMPOUT AT THE BEACH THAN BE ON VACATION WITH MILDEW AND ROACHES! I BEGGED AND PLEATED FOR A REFUND FOR THE REMAINING 2 NIGHTS AND THEY STOPPED RESPONDING TO ME. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME SAYING HERE!!! THE PHOTOS AND LOCATION LOOK GREAT ON THE PICTURES BUT HOTEL IS NASTY AND STINKS! IF THE GENERAL MANAGER (RAFEL) RESPONDS TO MY REVIEW LIKE HE DOES THE OTHERS....SIR PLEASE HAVE A HEART AND GIVES US OUR MONEY BACK. THATS WHAT AN HONEST CIVILIZED HUMAN/ BUSINESS...

Let’s start with the most frustrating part: we booked a room four months ago with a balcony, a king-size bed, and a partial ocean view (the price for this type of room is around $450 per night). However, when we arrived and checked in, we were told that there were no rooms with a king-size bed available and that we would get a room with two queen beds instead. Of course, we were disappointed, but since they didn’t offer us any alternatives, we accepted it.
But when we got to the room, the first thing we noticed was that there was NO BALCONY! We specifically chose this room in advance and pay higher price because we wanted a balcony. On top of that, the view was not of the ocean as promised. The room they gave us normally costs around $320 per night, which means we paid $100 more per night and didn’t even get what we booked. And what’s worse, they didn’t offer any options—no refund (not even a partial one), no chance to move to our actual room after a few days, not even a small gesture like a complimentary breakfast or lunch on the rooftop once/ free parking maybe. Nothing.
Now for the next issue: when we entered the bathroom, it smelled awful—like sewage and poop lol. We reported it to the manager, who said the only thing they could do was send the cleaning staff. When the cleaners arrived, all they did was spray some air freshener in the bathroom. Naturally, after a few hours, the air freshener smell was gone, and the sewage smell came back.
Another problem was with the shower: it looks nice, but since the glass wall doesn’t fully enclose it, water gets all over the floor no matter how careful you are. This means you’re left with a huge puddle in the bathroom every time you shower—not very well thought out! Also, there was no trash bin in the room—only in the bathroom. Where are you supposed to throw things away if you’re using the kitchen? Even something as simple as peeling fruit becomes a hassle.
One minor issue was the lack of towels—we only had a problem with this once in our six-day stay, so I guess we were lucky in that regard.
The positives: The hotel is very close to the ocean, and the beach is beautiful. The rooftop lounge chairs are great for relaxing—there’s no loud music, and the atmosphere is nice. The gym is small but well-equipped with everything you need.
Unfortunately, the positives don’t outweigh the negatives. Would we stay here again?...
