I stay here every year for work. The front desk service it's awesomely good. (Don't get me wrong, like any other place if you don't check on your reservations or your bill you may get screwed, especially going overseas to a place you do not know). There are drinks for tips at certain hours and goodies sometimes. It is very clean. The rooms are just way too nice with a security box and a fridge, but no microwave. The gym is small but it has water, treadmills, bikes, a multi-use machine, two multi-posture benches and some dumbbells to use on them which at least keeps you updated. The pool is very nice with a bar and a hot tub. Breakfast in the morning is very descent. It is nearby a couple of places but you have to surf a little bit to know where to go for prices and food. Everything around the airport is more expensive anyways. Everything on foot is to your left when you get out of the hotel. First thing you see is a Chilli's. The bad part is that there is a parking space right at the hotel that for some reason is not included in your stay. But at least is in the hotel premises. (Parking spaces seem to be some kind of rare monopoly in PR). It has a very small launder room. What else ... Remember Consuela from Family Guy ? Practice your Spanish skills if you need to ask one of the maids for something. Lol ! It's the most near the airport it can be. (Non-walking) Even though is across the back street, there is no safe way to get there unless in a car. It's actually a little creepy to hear them airplanes coming down so near. But not to worry, the noise is not unbearable especially if you are inside the room. It has a little store near the front desk and an ATM too. Also they seem to have good relations with the local police so you don't find the annoying noisy crowd staying there too much. That's the...
Read moreLadies and Gentlemen, Señoras y Señors, let me give you the review of a lifetime here. The most up to date, accurate and the review you should base your stay of off as of June 2024.
Beds = Bad
You want to relax? You want to get some rest? You need a place to sleep after a long day of adventure? Well don’t do it here! No point in sleeping here, those “new” mattress’ are harder than the floor. They claimed to have received new Serta mattress back in October of 2023 and they may just need to be broken in. Our stay was in June of 2024… that’s 10 months fellas. You’re telling me in 10 months the mattress’ just need a little “breaking in”. These beds are so hard that if your kids were to jump on it, their ankles would break. The beds are so uncomfortable you’d rather be having “the interview” with your girls parents as if it was your first time meeting them again. In order to get a good nights sleep you definitely need to recline the seat in your car… hopefully you got a good sized SUV to fit the whole family in there to sleep. Beyond the bed, we had some problems with the mini fridge, and what I mean by that is it didn’t do the whole “fridge” thing. It was colder in the room than it was in the “mini fridge”.
My fiancee and I religiously stay and the Hampton Inn, and this was just not it. The people were fabulous, the service was pretty good, when it comes to the people that work here, they’re good. They were definitely aggravated at us since we complained to them at least 1-5 times a day about something. They’d either send someone within 2-10 minuets or give us a refund somewhere within the stay. My complaint isn’t with the people, it’s with the establishment and the poor quality of equipment. We went and bought mattress toppers but anything we did to try and get a good nights sleep just...
Read moreI've greatly enjoyed staying at this hotel since December 31, 2017. Today I'm moving to Sheraton 4 Points in Caguas to be closer to work and will sorely miss staying at the Hampton Inn. If you're thinking about booking, don't hesitate. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. There are complimentary hot and cold breakfast options. Breakfast ends at 10 am but hot coffee, cocoa, tea, and cold water with ice and lemon are available in the common area anytime. Fitness center, business center, guest laundry, it's hard not to feel right at home staying in the Hampton Inn & Suites in Isla Verde.
Mon - Fri is Happy Hour until 7pm, with complimentary drinks (beer, cocktails, etc.) snacks vary by day (freshly popped popcorn, mixed nuts, pretzels, nachos and cheese) the poolside grill is available to order food (burgers, steaks, quesadillas, etc.) when you're not in the mood to venture out onto the strip.
On the strip there are a variety of meal options, Plato's, directly across from the hotel (amazing sangria ! -(Parcha/Passion Fruit👌), Lupi's Mexican Grill, Pizza City, Los Gordito's, Subway, Denny's, HiJole, Church's Chicken, Chili's is literally only a few steps away, Metropol, etc. to name a few. Condado and Old San Juan are just a short ride away (10 mins).
I can go on and on about my stay, the rooms are clean. During my stay, I had a single room and later a suite. The suites are quite roomy, pull out couch for a visiting guest; small kitchenette area: refrigerator, microwave, and sink. TV in the livingroom and bedroom. Fresh towels and bottled water left daily and sometimes a sweet treat, pool and hot tub for relaxing. I can't say enough this is a great...
