Eve's Eatery — Restaurant in Carson City

Honestly can’t rate the food because we never got it. We came in at about 10:30 AM on a Saturday and were told the wait time was about 10 minutes so we had a seat and waited. About a third of the tables were empty, but they weren’t seating us so they were likely understaffed. After about 15 minutes, we were seated. For 10 minutes, nobody came by our table to even bring water. We finally flagged a server down to ask for water and she said she was actually our server and she could take our order. We placed our order and she said she would bring our water right out. After another 5 minutes, she brought the water and we had been looking around the dining area and at least 3 tables who were already there when we walked in were still waiting for food. We asked our server how long our food would be and she said “when we’re busy like this it will take about 30 minutes.” They were not busy, as about a third of the tables were empty, they were understaffed with staff that clearly had no customer orientation. We had already spent 30 minutes waiting to be seated and get our water delivered so we told her we would be going somewhere else. She was not apologetic at all about the situation and showed no signs of urgency throughout. Absolutely terrible service and experience. We literally drove to another restaurant, got seated, and had our food less than 25 minutes after...

The restaurant looks great on the inside, a little niche modern joint. We were seated nearly immediately, and our order was taken shortly after. We then proceeded to wait an hour for the food, in which case there was a single refill of water offered to me. I ordered the Salmon Benedict. I tore into the egg and the first muffin without a problem. When I scooted the second muffin across the plate I noticed an oddly textured and colored item that crumbled apart had come off the bottom of the muffin. I thought "Maybe it is egg white" but when I tasted it, I tasted paper. Had the wife taste it, and we both concluded it was likely napkin of some sort.

Sent it with the server back to the kitchen. The explanation I received was that it is not paper, but actually leftover egg whites from previous orders that are so overcooked that it has lost any flavor or ability to stay together. So either I was lied to and I was given napkins from God knows where, or even worse, there is some abhorrently disgusting pot that is being used to poach every order...

This was really good we tried it for a change and had lunch. I'd really like to go back and try breakfast. Burger was really good. It's a little expensive. Great service.

Update My daughter and I got the opportunity to have breakfast here 2 weeks in a row. I got the basic breakfast couple eggs hash browns and sausage. My daughter got the Apple pancakes. First of all let me say when we received our breakfast our food came out hot and fresh. It was great. The second time we went in I ordered the same thing but my daughter ordered the oatmeal. The oatmeal was delicious. A lot of fresh fruit on the plate also. Then again my breakfast was spectacular. It's not very often you can go into a restaurant and get a basic breakfast and it's hot and fresh. Usually the sausage is oily or you get the hash browns in their cool and your eggs are overcooked.
