Nice decor and nice people. Very inviting. However the food was disappointing. The Caprese salad was not the traditional one I was hoping for. My bad for not reading the description closely. Salad: pictured here is wilted and brown. It was awful. And the bread while not too bad, could have been a little fresher. it was compacted like it had been frozen and re-heated. Then I asked for meatballs and spaghetti to go but they could not as they were out of larger containers. Another customer very near to me was asking for various items that they were out of as well. Too many things not available. They offered desert and then backtracked as they were out of almost everything. And this was early like 5:30. I went home with blueberry pie that was not good either. Classy looking Italian style ambience and nice people but they were not prepared, out of too many things. And with this kind of restaurant I expect fresh food, not brown wilted lettuce. This was unacceptable. :(

6 of us ladies came here for New Year's Eve.... We arrived at 5;30 and waited 45-50 minutes after we ordered to receive our food. 1 dish- chicken della casa was served very much cold... another chicken dish - fettuccine Victoria- chicken was chewy and rubbery- needed a knife, a third dish the pesto on the ravioli separated from the oil otherwise the ravioli were tasty but swimming in oil. They offered a free desert-ice cream and berries good- cobbler was like pastie dough. The one dish that was good was the cappellini shrimp and scallops. Also chicken Marsala was good (not great). Neither Garlic bread, bread, or salad is included in the meals. If 2 small eaters share a plate it is a $9.95 inch xtra charge. Our wine glasses set empty for 15-20 minutes, we had to ask another waitress for help. Unfortunately- very disappointing night.

Expensive! Be prepared to pay top prices for standard food. We ordered the Eggplant Parmesan as it was the least expensive entree on the menu ($21.95) ; two thick slices of eggplant with a few veggies on the side. The eggplant was good, but needed more sauce. We also ordered a side of garlic bread ($5.95) and for the price was a huge disappointment - buttered bread with a sprinkle of garlic powder. The house wines were nothing to write home about either (tasted both white and red) and passed on both, as water was preferable. There were several "specials" offered by our server who did not volunteer the prices. BE SURE TO ASK HOW MUCH THE SPECIALS COST BEFORE ORDERING! They are extremely expensive. With tip we paid $70.00 for very unremarkable food. ☹️

Took a bit for our server to arrive at our table after being seated. Once she arrived she never introduced herself, but ok. We ordered drinks and appetizers, she kept pushing to order our entrees, we finally had to let her know that we’ll order after we finish our appetizers. This is where things started to go wrong …. Appetizers, we ordered the calamari , she brought us artichoke fritters, after we reminded her that we ordered the calamari , she quickly corrected herself and said these belong to another table. We waited another 10 minutes for the correct appetizer which clearly she mis ordered. Ok mistakes happen. …. By this time our entrees arrived and my wife noticed that her chicken dish was missing from her polenta . We waited and waited for our server to come around but never did, the hostess assumed that we were ready to togo boxes we mentioned that the dish was not correct , she looked confused and went to get our server. We asked about the polenta , she clearly replied that our dishes took longer because she was waiting for the polenta on my wife’s dish ….. not only did she serve the dish without the polenta that she was waiting for , she was confused why it wasn’t on the plate. She had to go back to the kitchen to figure out what happened to the polenta. Come’s to find out they were out of the polenta. So why was she waiting specifically for the polenta if they were already out of it ? Why didn’t she offer a substitute? Just mentioned they were out of it and left. She never came around to ensure everything was to our liking, took more than usual time to get the check, she did mention she removed $4 from the bill to cover the missing polenta , it was not noted on the receipt , we never saw our server again ! The hostess ended up processing our payment. Sorry to say but the lies from our server undermine the food. I would love to give a better review because the...

The place was quaint and casual no need to dress up. The food was pretty good but we had a few issues with our order. We ordered the calamari appetizer which the waitress repeated our order and then kept pushing to order our entrée which we wanted to wait until after the appetizer. She brought it out which wound up being the artichoke fritas and then made the excuse it was for another table but then we still had to wait 10 minutes for our calamari so she must have ordered wrong. For dinner I ordered the polla di vincci and it was supposed to on a bed of crispy polenta. When I received my dinner it was just the chicken with sauce and a small side of vegetables with a few pesto pasta pieces. I was not able to find the waitress nor did she come back to ask how our dinner is so I had to flag down the hostess who said I will find your waitress. When she finally came over and I asked about it she said oh I was waiting for it let me go check which she promptly returned to state that "oh they are out of the polenta". She didn't offer to ask if I wanted a side of pasta instead or did she say something upfront when I ordered the chicken that they were out of it nor did the kitchen tell her they were out of it again I would have then liked it served over pasta for the sauce not a big chunk of chicken and some sauce. I would have been nice if the kitchen communicated to the waitress so I could have either decided I still wanted the dish or chose a second option. Needless to say she only discounted my meal $4 for not having polenta. I am not looking for a free meal it would have been nice if they said something after I ordered it or prior to been served. This is why I am only giving it 3 stars overall. The food flavor was good just the experience...

I keep trying to give this place a chance because I've heard good things, but it's unfortunately a no-go for me. Ate here twice. First time the service was incredibly slow; we waited over an hour for our food, and then the order came out wrong, but we were so hungry we ate it anyways. Since it wasn't what we ordered and it was dishes we didn't particularly care for, we decided to try again rather than judge on dishes we know we don't like. Second time the food at least came out correctly (though it was still slow as snails). My husband loved his veal saltimbocca. I forget what I had.. because it was easily forgettable. So, one good meal, one blah. We tried a third time tonight, showed up right when they opened and were refused seating in a completely empty restaurant because we didn't have a reservation. So instead we had a lovely meal at Cucina Lupo (just a block away) and when walking back to our cars, did a quick peek in and the place still looked empty. I'm fine if a restaurant is reservation only, but they should state that on their webpage. Perhaps the crickets chirping in the background enjoyed a wonderful meal. So 3 stars down the middle for food - which considering that only one of our 4 meals was both what we ordered and good.. is being generous. But only 2 for service (one for each time they bothered to seat us) and 2 for the depressingly drab and dated atmosphere. There's just too many nice restaurants right next door to this place to continue to (attempt to) offer them...
