Roti Indian Kitchen is owned by the wonderful people who also own Pind Indian Restaurant located in downtown Grand Rapids. We tried their crabmeat curry, chicken saag, and baingan bhartha with aloo partha (a wonderful flatbread). We loved the crabmeat curry from Pind and the dish at Roti did not disappoint! We had everything at a medium level of spice (a 3 on their 5-point heat-scale) and the crabmeat curry was creamy and sweet with a degree of heat that you could feel and still taste the distinct flavors. The baingan bhartha had a saltiness that hit first, but finished with a sweetness from the spices that complimented the eggplant perfectly. The chicken saag had large portions of super tender chicken chunks amidst the creamy sauce. The bread was lightly charred and flakey, perfect for grabbing tasty morsels while we dined under a canopy of vines and twinkling lights. They have been open only a month, but we plan to...

I love good Indian food. And this was really good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Nice atmosphere. Clean and attractive.

The service was excellent. Attentive without being overbearing.

I had a Mango Lassi, garlic naan, and chicken saag with white basmati rice. I ordered mild.

The saag was excellent! Portion size was large. Excellent, thick sauce. BEWARE Spice level was closer to medium than mild. I didn’t mind it though.

Garlic naan was tasty. Not strong on the garlic, but it was definitely there. Nice size portion.

Mango lassi was creamy with a mild flavor. The mango was not over powering. Sipping the lassi helped with the heat from the saag.

The white basmati was good. Not just basic basmati, but no added spices. I don’t know what they did to it, but it was just right. They started with about a half portion, compared to the saag, and they asked if I wanted more before I could...

[UPDATE]

They now have a diaper changing station in the first restroom! They’re perfect for many more families now..! 😍🙏🏼 I think it’s safe to say that Roti’s food quality is “the best”around this area for Indian food..!🙏🏼🤯 My husband and I travel a lot and had so many good Indian food in the States and overseas as well.

Roti’s food is like… someone who knows the beauty of Indian food is happily cooking in the kitchen🤌🏼😍 Wow….We absolutely appreciated Google for showing us Roti as a recommendation!😆👍🏼👍🏼 Lamb chops were DELICIOUS so as everything we ordered. We need to go back to try more!

Seating was pretty tight in between tables but it was ok to enjoy. Mango Lassi was soooo good as well!

Only one thing I wish they had was a diaper changing station in the restroom for families with little ones🥲.

Can’t wait to try...

For fans of Pind downtown, their new sister restaurant will be a welcome retreat when you don't want to drive all the way downtown. Expect the same kind of service and a twist on some of their classics dishes. We had to make it out here for their opening day and we weren't let down. We tried the garlic naan, onion and methi kulchaa, and the gobi manchurian (a different recipe, more onion based) as an appetizer. Everything was spot on. Got the lamb & mushroom curry and the lamb biryani for dinner. There is literally no other place that makes lamb as good as this place. I swear, you find a better place let me know. Get any lamb dish (wife hates lamb everywhere else). The bar will be open in a month but until then they got no alcohol. They also have an awesome takeout scene. Come here for lunch, they got you covered.
