Starbucks — Restaurant in Cascade Charter Township

Normally a pretty solid pass through on my way to work. Stopped by on a Saturday to redeem a free drink. I always go big on free rewards: venti with 5 shots. When I picked up my drink, it was a grande- no big deal, people make mistakes. When I said “I thought I got a venti”, the barista pulled the old cup (apparently used to make the drink) out of the trash and said “it was entered as grande” with a less than friendly tone. While I’m confident I ordered a venti, regardless of whether or not I did, the response from the barista was more than enough to put a sour taste in my mouth. That’s not customer service- you don’t pull the order out of the trash and tell the customer how it was ordered. You correct the situation. Additionally, the beverage was very subpar. Yes, it had five shots but it is a Frappuccino, I don’t expect it to be entirely melted after 5 minutes of getting it. I will definitely be second guessing any stops to this Starbucks and if this is the new Starbucks way, then I can pause on other stores as well. My mom, sisters and I went through the drive thru here like we have many times before. Today we were given our iced chai with pumpkin foam lattes and they were much darker in color than normal. After tasting determined there was espresso in them and asked for new ones without. They took our drinks back, tried scooping some out and adding more milk and ice and giving them back to us. Then gaslighted us telling they made brand new ones which somehow still had espresso in them and pretended we didn’t see them mixing the same cups we handed back to them. They were extremely rude. We are not newbies to coffee and chai tea. We asked for a refund and went to the target in the same drive and received the correct beverages...

Whenever I go to a cafe'/coffee shop I have a test to see if they know what they are doing. I order a cappuccino dry. While in the military I lived in Europe for years and always got a cappuccino, then I came back and got a cappuccino in the US and it was more like a latte than a cappuccino. So my test is to see if they nake it correctly, it should be a very light cup mostly foam a small amount of milk and taste very much like coffee.
