My husband and I ate lunch at Ixtapa after hiking in the Gorge and we have a new favorite restaurant in Cascade Locks. The menu has much more variety than a typical Mexican restaurant. I'm always trying to eat more vegetable and the Spinach Burrito filled the bill deliciously. The grilled vegetables are rolled in a flour burrito and covered in a green sauce with dollops of guacamole and sour cream. It is big enough for three meals. Plus the outstanding cup of coffee was served in a cute Mexican-style mug. My husband had the basic chicken enchilada plate that was fine but not nearly as exciting. He should have ordered the mole enchiladas. Maybe next time!

I enjoyed the seafood enchiladas and the beautiful view of course, as well as the tasty martini. But I did not appreciate the service, I was a party of 1 and felt like I was judged and extremely rushed so they can serve other people with bigger parties.. I’m talking 3 different people came to my table asking me “how are you doing” every 5 minutes, yet had to ask twice for things and she knocked down my silverware. That’s telling to me, if you’re gonna continue to ask you gotta deliver. I felt harassed and it ruined the experience. I just ended up asking for a box after the 5th time. I felt like I had to ask to finish my drink after I packed up my food. Smh

We had to come down and check out the new IXTAPA Mexican Restaurant in our hometown. They did an amazing job transforming the visitors center into a very classy, family restaurant. As most of you are aware, I am not a huge connoisseur of Mexican cuisine, but their food was awesome and the service was wonderful. I think this is going to be the perfect addition to Cascade Locks, and I would expect it to be a big success. I would highly recommend it to everyone, both residents and travelers.

My family and I went for lunch and not impressed by any means, the cheese dip was luke cool and we ordered two kinds of fajitas no onions they came out with a large bunch of onions they took them back and made new ones my husband's came out nice and sizzling and mine came out hot but not sizzling like normal fajitas should do, my grandson is 6 and ordered the chicken nuggets and they where very over cooked and pretty dry. My adult kids ordered the chicken nachos which they say where ok but the chicken wasn't hot. We have lived here over ten years and where super excited to eat at a new restaurant here finally but not happy with the food and the servers barely spoke English so it was a bit tough to conversate with them. Probably won't be back anytime soon considering it's a brand new place and they are already not a good place to eat. The chips and salsa where good. Prices way to high for lack of a better word.. mediocre. Update... Ok revising review....went in again with my family same ones that went with us before we ordered some different things and it was actually much better this time , although I asked for no onions in my shrimp cocktail and they put them in anyways but hubby asked no onions in his meal and it was as ordered also he got the sizzling fajitas again and this time got them very hot and sizzling so they stepped up a bit...

We've been looking for a good Mexican American restaurant and alternative dining options to the few places available in the greater North Bonneville, Cascade Locks, Stevenson triangle. This is the spot. The only decent Mexican food restaurant in the region, and was exactly what we were looking for. Food was as expected, it was not five star worthy, but good, and standard Mexican American food fair. The service was excellent, if not overbearing, with several people frequently asking us how we were doing if everything was okay if we needed anything else, all that. The location in atmosphere are what really make this place awesome. Right on the Columbia River waterfront, the Columbia Sternwheeler coming and going as we were dining. Views are excellent, outside seating in the summertime, clean and cozy inside. Will definitely be going back frequently,...

Was really looking forward to coming here. The service is A+++ the chips and salsa soooo good! View? Fantastic! Food? No. I ordered shrimp tacos. 3 for about $24. When the food came, it was literally just shrimp in a tortilla. Had a tiny bit of tomato, onion, and lettuce to put in that would maybe be sufficient for two of the tacos. Also, no black beans option. The sauce was like hidden valley or something. Where is the yummy slaw? The cilantro? Anything? Also the drinks were overpriced. I ordered a skinny marg. Was mostly juice. No tequila and super small for almost $16! I didn't watch them make it, but, betting it was measured in the tiny silver measuring thing all...
