FALSE ADVERTISING! My friends and I stayed for a week-long trip in one of the 3-bedroom units. The motel's website boasts WiFi and laundry services, however the WiFi is based in the office at the front of the property and does not reach very far and is not secure. This was a problem for the friends I traveled with, who needed WiFi to do work. Despite the website advertising laundry facilities, they were closed. My friends and I came from the East Coast and packed with being able to do laundry in mind, so it forced us to do laundry in the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The amenities in the actual room were very minimal-- no closets, no hangers, two chairs for a 3-bedroom apartment, and hardly enough dishes and silverware for the three of us. Based on the website's pictures, we also expected a full stove and refrigerator, but had only a mini-fridge and a two-burner stovetop that didn't get hot. We managed to make two meals, but had planned to eat in more. Luckily, Thunder Island Brewing saved us for several dinners. Lastly, the room itself was dirty. We arrived expecting our room to be cleaned at 3pm, but the folks who clean the motel were still in our room with the door wide open, letting dozens of flies in. We were killing flies for the rest of our trip. We also opened the mini-fridge to see it completely filthy, asked the couple if they would please clean it, and came back to it untouched. Coming from cross-country, we of course didn't bring our own cleaning supplies to maintain the room. The whole room needs a deep cleaning in general, as there were dirty fingerprints all over the doors and cobwebs in the corners. Another false advertisement: the banner outside says "sanitized daily," but inside the office it says you have to call to request cleaning. You also have to go to the office to get your own towels and toilet paper. Another issue was the trash: we had one small trash can for 3 people, which meant all bathroom trash and kitchen trash had to squeeze in there. Luckily, we had a larger trash can on the porch next to ours, but my friend once went to dump the trash and right before she did, a stray cat launched itself at her! There were at least 4 stray cats on the property, which after seeing that we threw trash in the large open trash can, frequently visited our porch. I guess this is fine if you like cats, but is pretty bad if you're allergic. Next, the price. We were charged what worked out to be almost $300/night. We also originally booked an extra night at the end of the trip, but removed it. Somehow though, that only dropped the price $50, which makes no sense. At $300/night, one would expect better facilities, and you most certainly do not get what you pay for here. When we checked in, we were told we would not receive a refund if we left. Despite there still being AirBnbs with superior amenities still available (for only a little over half the cost of our full trip), we were stuck. The only positive about the rooms I'd say is that the bed was comfortable (albeit not memory foam as advertised) and the sheets were clean and soft. However, each bedroom was tiny, so there was barely any room for luggage. If you wanted to have two people per room for 6 total, it would have been nearly impossible due to how small the entire space was. Lastly, I do believe the root of all of these problems is the owner. The on-site manager, Raeleen, tried her very best to solve our issues from the first day, but was working within very limited parameters, resources, and strict instructions from the owner. He seems to be the problem, not her. My friend who made the reservation requested money back due to all the false advertisement and clear rip-off, so we will see if the motel ever responds. We come here yearly for a week-long event that is held amongst a small community with a global reach. I will certainly not stay here again, and I will be warning others from doing so as well.

The Bridge of the Gods motel needs to be shut down, in my opinion for several reasons. Mostly because the Fraud/steeling that goes on. There was no disclosure of a hold on your card of $100. It was Labor Day weekend, and the nights had already been paid for. Let me start in order of events. Let me say this first, if it hadn't been a holiday weekend and we were in the area for a wedding we would have moved on to another hotel, probably without a refund. When we checked in was the first we knew about the $100. There wasn't much we could do but let them put a 'hold' which actually charged and processed it from the bank account. When we went to our room the floor was uneven, I set my rolling suitcase down, it rolled to the other side of the room. They advertised the following: Free Wireless Internet Available - We were not able to get on the internet the entire time we were there. This was very inconvenient. We tried on three different devices. Laundry Facilities - Luckily this was true, though I only saw it as we drove by, so I do not know the condition. Memory Foam Bedding in ALL Rooms - Notice they have capitalized ALL, well if we had memory foam in our room it had forgotten! They were terrible. Jet Tubs in many rooms - We didn't even have a tub let alone a Jet one. A VERY small bathroom with small shower. The bathroom was scary dirty. There was no place to set our toothbrushes and toiletries on. We opened the medicine cabinet, and it was filthy. The toilet was a round one and the seat oblong, so it hung over a few inches. The space between the seat and the tank was all filled with dirt and hair. It makes me sick to think we had to use it. It said they had a hair blower, they did not. The outlet in the bathroom did not even work. I had to plug my curling iron in, in the kitchen. The health department really does need to have a surprise inspection on this property The small kitchen was okay, we didn't really use it. They only had a small garbage can in there and one in the bathroom. We ended up leaving a sack full by the can in the kitchen so as not to leave our wrappers or anything around. The place was left as we found it. When we got home, I called to talk to them about the $100 it took me and my daughter two days to actually get someone to answer the phone. No answering machine, it just rang. When I finally got through the lady was polite but argued with me about the hold. She finally looked somewhere else and found they had charged us. She verified the last 4 digits of the credit card and promised to refund it, and that I would see it yesterday. It has not been refunded. In my opinion this is fraud and/or out and out steeling. I'm contacted the area Chamber of Commerce about what I could do to get the $100 refunded.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I booked this room for after I was to work a 16 hour day in hood river. Got here, was given a dirty room. Pubes all over the bathroom. Dead bugs fell from the shower curtain. Water on the floor. Hair in the sink. Broken TV. Luckily saw this before we got in bed. We decided to drive home at midnight. I went to the front and told the “manager” the issue and that I want a refund and she STRAIGHT UP ADMITTED THAT THEY HADNT CLEANED THAT ROOM!! She said they are short staffed and were “going to get to it”! That should’ve been done before you hand keys to a customer. I called back in the morning. Spoke to the same woman, retold her the story as if she didn’t know. She said she remembered. Was super apologetic, issued me the refund. Screenshots and emails proving. FAST FORWARD A MONTH LATER AND THEY HAD RECHARGED ME FOR THE ROOM PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $15 for who knows what and is now refusing to give me a refund. How do you recharge someone for something you admitted to? Terrible customer service on top of a filthy mess of a hotel. How do you give someone a dirty room and then refuse to make it right? I chalked it up to a bad night and moved on. Now I hope the hotel gets shut down.
