Got a few things to say about this location. My wife loves Panda, and regardless of the food quality or portions, she is going to keep sending me back. We have been Regular Patrons of Panda Express in Littleton Colorado, for 15 years, and this location here in Roanoke since July of this year. About 2-3 times a month she wants Panda's Orange Chicken with Chow Mein. Not sure what is missing, but the Chow Mein here is a different color than any other panda I have ever been to, and lacks consistency. The Orange Chicken is Rock Hard about 33% of the time at this location. I have Similar Portion Grudges as other reviewers with this location. For the price, I never feel like I get the 'Usual Portions' that we have been getting for the last 15 years. There is always a stack of people waiting for food at this location, as 1/2 of the items are out and being cooked. But there is also always a line to the door in the dining room, and a line around the back in the drive thru. It is absolute Chaos in this store, There are drive thru servers cutting in front of dining room servers taking all the dining room food. This last Thursday, I was 3rd in line when they put out a fresh batch of Orange Chicken. In the time it took for it to be my turn and say my order, I got the last scoop and had to wait for more to be prepared. When I got home, it was hard and Crunchy. After all these years, I am used to bad Panda every once in awhile, because every place has bad days and good days. But, the bad days are getting more and more frequent, and we are just about done with this...
Read moreThe food was horrible, even tho it was semi-buffet style under heat warmers the food was cold, and very very flavor-less. The lady serving the food was really rude, when I ask her about what a certain food was and how it was made /flavored she had no idea she repeated the name of the food I asked about... I asked her if it was a popular choice ? The response I received was " Chicken Kung Pao", again the name of the food. There were also 5 others standing there just staring at everyone whom looked extremely lost, when I also asked their opinions no one had an answer for if they liked it nor if it was a popular choice. And I think maybe one person whom there worked there could even speak or understand English . I also had to ask 3 individuals for silver wear, there wAs none stocked nor did anyone know where to find it, and only one offered to even look or help. When we went to pay as well she just said " Give me the money" I had to ask 2x how much and again I had to say "HOW MUCH" after 2 eye rolls and confusion like I was being rude for asking how much my bill was to pay her she says ," I don't know $20ish" Then she came back with my reciept and my change and was trying to bag our food when I told her we were dining in. I don't recommend this restaurant, they did just open however, after aa few months we may try again, but definitely NOT a good start to a...
Read moreIt's pretty much what you expect it to be from an express Chinese take out. Definitely say it's overated. The food is decent, not so sure about the "world famous" orange chicken? It's good but don't know about "world famous"? Maybe through advertising, not by how good it is. Probably not something I'd order again? The fried rice is really bland, could use more soy. The "chow mein" noodles (actually seems more like Lo Mein noodles to me) is decent but again, kinda bland for chow (Lo) Mein. The "entrees" are needing to be rotated more, they don't replenish them until they are almost gone and I mean literally gone so it tends to dry up and not so fresh until someone is willing to take the left over remains. So look for the things that look like they were just replenished. I am giving it 3 stars based on, it is decent but as stated above, that's giving it more then it is due. I would have said 2.5 if able. And definitely overpriced! For what you get, you could have gone and got a lot better chinese at a Chinese restaurant (they do have takeout after all, just call ahead) and for about the same price, if not a tad less? The big plate (that's what they call it) ends up costing around $12.00 +. You could have gotten a quart (large) for about the same or less at a reputable Chinese restaurant. Tried it, I'm...
