To start off with, my father has owned fast food restaurants in this area for the past 25+ years. I myself have worked in various restaurants for 6 years. Raising Cane's will be around for the long run.
The good: simple menu. You've got your choice of chicken finger baskets in various sizes, or chicken sandwiches. Baskets come with fries, Texas toast, a drink, and coleslaw, but you can sub things out or order ala carte. because of this, the food is good. People brag about In N Out being good, but in my opinion this is 1000x better (has anyone tried InNOut fries?? They suck). the staff. I hope they're paying them well, because they're happy and friendly and responsive and prompt. No red flags from a food safety perspective, either. it's clean. Always. Maybe too clean.
The bad: no single stall family restroom with changing table too much ice if you go through the drive thru (just ask for no ice)
You decide: Clearly a conservative company in a conservative community. HOWEVER, I am not a conservative person by any means (I'm that girl who gets mistaken for a boy and doesn't mind, who is also married to a brown Egyptian muslim) and we are in all the time and feel welcome here. Their charities that support the troops are really there to help the people themselves (look into patriot laws, they're awesome) rather than the military as a whole. Like I said, no gender neutral bathrooms, but hey, it's no Chic Fil A. We are treated like family by the staff just like everyone else.
Also. Give Mama Joe a raise. She f**king deserves whatever you can afford. She makes it feel like you're at your best friend's house instead of...
Read moreAll they do is chicken fingers. Let me reiterate that... ALL THEY DO IS CHICKEN FINGERS. Now that we have that out of the way, this place makes some of the best tasting chicken fingers I've ever had.
Chick-fil-A has the best chicken sandwiches and lemonade, period. But this place has the best chicken fingers... also period. They know what they do, and they do it well.
So if you're in the mood for some damn good chicken fingers, head over to Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, near Culver's and Target, off Viking Road in Cedar Falls. Make sure you get their special sauce as well. Grab one of their loyalty cards for free, register it, and in a couple days they send you an e-mail that tells you they put a free 4 piece chicken finger meal on your card for the next time you come in.
Good stuff, let's hope it lasts. They claim to make all of the chicken fresh as you order it. So far that has definitely been the case, but it might also be because there have been big lines both times I've gone. We'll see how true that is months from now. I hope it stays that way. Now go get some damn good chicken...
Read moreCane’s is popular in the middle east so this was my first time dining in at one of the fast food corporation’s locations. When I walked into it the line for the ordering counter was right in front of me. It did not take long to place my order (maybe 3-5 minutes). It took about a minute longer to get our food after ordering. They have Coca-cola products for drinks. Their restroom and dining room were very clean and filled with a lot of decorations. I ordered a burger that came with chicken strips intentionally placed instead of the patty as they only use chicken as entrees. Their trademarked Cane’s Sauce was also really good. However, I was not particularly fond of the chicken itself I really liked the fries and bread sides. Overall they weren’t super good with hospitality but everything else checked out to be above average. I rate this fast-food restaurant...
