I was looking for a spicy sandwich with a healthy dose of vegetables, honestly a Subway Spicy Italian with double jalapenos. My wife suggested Ike's for something new and I am always ready for a culinary adventure. I got the Marshawn Lynch and it was more sweet and less spicy than I prefer. It was quite messy and I would have loved more veggies. The fried chicken is like soft chicken nuggets. As the most expensive sandwich, I was disappointed it wasn't more sophisticated in taste and my Subway favorite would have been half the price. My wife got the Danger Ranger and she was disappointed it did not have more flavor and was dry. She said it tasted like a simple ham and mozzarella sandwich. As a first timer, I had trouble navigating the menu. I felt it was a list of 20 random sandwiches with meat and half had a very sweet BBQ sauce. Although the menu format is not unusual, the ingredients were, so I was not able to glean what customizations I could do to make a sandwich I would prefer and I guess I settled for one with sriracha and chicken not chopped up. I'm sure Ike's is great for some people, especially certain diets, but sadly our first trip was...
Read moreOkay, so a sandwich is a sandwich, right? NO WAY!!! This place blows any other out of the water and I would know, I’ve had them all. I ordered the #126 Mark Appel on Sourdough and it was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever put in my mouth! Perfect balance of flavor, well assembled, and hot enough to melt the cheeses but not where you couldn’t enjoy immediately. If you are concerned with the fried chicken being crispy, like I was, don’t worry. It was fried, but soft where you could barely tell.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Lauren helped us at the counter and when we were taking quite a while looking at the menu, she offered to help us based on what types of things we liked. I liked that rather than say, “Oh everyone likes...” she wanted to know what our preferences were and could narrow it down accordingly. One of the staff came out from the back just to ask us how everything was, which is nice considering they don’t serve you at your table.
This is my new favorite place and will be coming...
Read moreFor a place with such good ratings, I am really disappointed with the food and service we got. Tried to first order food multiple times online using Apple Pay and it was not getting processed. Then I decided to call the store to place an order and the guy reluctantly took the order. I walk in to the store with my toddler, i was surprised to see how unwelcoming the lady at the counter was. There was no welcome, no smile. Probably the most unfriendly person I have come across in this friendly state of Texas. I then see my order had only 2 veggies listed for a veggie sandwich that were ordered. She then tells me that the other veggies are optional. Well, then the guy who took the order on the call should have asked my choices. He didn’t even ask what bread I’d like my sandwich in. And I have no idea what bread I ate and to top it off, the bread...
