Normally, I try not to one-star a restaurant, but this experience was sooooo badly handled that I wanted to make sure that others would be aware and takes measures to ensure this did not happen. To them...
On today's visit to Red Robin, I called prior to leaving so that I could pick up my order as soon as it was cooked, I looked up the number for this restaurant on Google... I found myself talking to a hostess at the restaurant after a two-minute conversation she let me know that you would be transferring me over to the person in charge of to-go orders and placed me on hold. I started leaving my home and headed straight for the restaurant, detour to grab a cup of coffee at Starbucks for dessert... came into the restaurant was still on hold and ask the hostess if the number on my phone was the number for that particular restaurant to which she replied 'hour to go order person is really busy'... So I was asked to sit down at the bar and place my order.
Let me add that the bartender was great took my order give me a cup of water and insured me that he would get to the bottom of things came back and let me know that he had spoken to the person taking it to go orders and a manager. mine's you let me also add that the parking lot had five cars in it and there wasn't more than eight people inside the restaurant, a ninth person came in to pick up an order via a delivery service and also was waiting for an order... This was the only other person I saw there picking up an order in the 20 odd minutes that I had been waiting.
I tipped $2 cash on a $9 order or I would normally pick up my to-go order and not tip. no one came to tell me that they wanted to make it right no one reached out to me and asked if there was anything else I would like no one offered to compensate me a free drink because of the situation.
I do not recommend ordering red Robin via phone your best bet is simply to go in and order. If their servers treat you this badlyand you feel that they have no remorse I suggest just standing up and walking out. Most likely this will not reach anyone at red Robin, but I hope it helps you figure out if you want to be part of a situation like this or simply just take your business elsewhere.
I'm attaching a screenshot of my receipt and I am also attaching the information from my call log showing how long it took before someone pick up the phone the restaurant to acknowledge that I was on hold while waiting at the bar...
Read moreSadly disappointed. It had been years since we had been to a Red Robin and were excited to go for a burger…. I am no longer excited. The only thing made right was the waters. Ordered an appetizer sampler- don’t ever do that without asking the price first…. $17.99 for over fried greasy pickles slices with virtually no pickle. The grease was dripping off of them and there were 5 pieces. Onion rings were crispy but so crispy it about broke a tooth, little onion in them and greasy. , 4 mozzarella twists- they were ok. Marinara sauce was runny and slightly clear- I dipped a mozz twist in and it wouldn’t stick…. Just ran off.
Ordered a burger. Jalepeno relish, pepper jack cheese, guacamole, tomato…. The bun was dry and was not fresh- the burger was hard and compact- difficult to chew through and would have been better if they had burgers from McDonald’s….. that’s not saying much. Their burgers used to be tender and juicy and feel like they had just been partied and grilled to order. This was not the case this time at all. We ordered sweet potato fries to go with the burger and when the food came out the sweet potato fries were actually cold limp And tough to chew.. I did ask for hot fries and actually got them the second time around.
Second entrée ordered for the ribs, they were full of grizzle and hard to chew off the bone. The only thing decent about it was the flavor of the whiskey barbecue sauce. Add on steak fries to the order of ribs, they were warm at best and the addition of a 2 ounce cup of beer cheese cost $3 dollars!
I gave, what seemed to be the manager on duty my overall reaction to our food that we were served in hopes of any remedy towards our food or the Bill. Nothing happened except that we were told. I hope the next time you visit is better.
Overall, the bill $71, For two entrées, one appetizer, one lemonade, unflavored, and two waters. It was absolutely ridiculous and I will never go back to a red Robin again.. A one star review was the only thing that I could give, since zero was not an option. The server was very lack and seemed as if she didn’t want to be there either. To play in a little background to me, I have been a chef for over 18 years at many types of restaurants and fine dining. I just want to know that I can go somewhere and have a good burger cooked and a good experience, and be taken care of when I don’t want to have to cook at...
Read moreMy husband waited over an hour for a to-go order! To say we received incompetent and lackluster service would be an understatement.
To summarize, I placed an order online at 6:19 and was given a pickup time of 6:35. My husband arrived right on time around 6:30 and was told the order was not ready, but would come out shortly. After about 15 minutes, he contacted me to let me know he was still waiting on the order which I thought was odd because it was placed at 6:20 (40 minutes earlier). After about 15 more minutes of waiting I decided to call and ask to speak to a manager. I spoke with someone named Michael who took my name and said he would find my husband and take care of it. About 5-10 minutes later my husband was greeted by Dave and asked what the order was because he didn’t have it. Yes, 40 MINUTES after my husband arrived he was told they did not have the order!
My husband incredulously provided him with the information even though he would have preferred to walk out of the restaurant altogether, but since we had already paid for the order he waited. Dave came back a few minutes later and said he was 100% sure the order was prepared and fulfilled - confirming they did in fact have the order, but audaciously implying that we had somehow already picked up the order and worse were trying to scam the restaurant out of two $10 burgers.
First, I can assure you my husband and I have no need to engage in such behavior and the mere fact that it was implied shows a severe lack of tact and competency by the MOD to handle customer service issues. Secondly, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that they probably gave our food to one of the other patrons picking up a to-go order. Once this mistake was discovered, my husband should have received a sincere apology, free drinks, a comped meal - ANYTHING. Instead he received suspicion, a forced apology and was rushed out with a bad meal AN HOUR later. Not only was it missing the extra fries we requested repeatedly, but the fries we did receive were burnt and crispy - quality not in par with other Red Robin restaurants that I have dined at for several years and have come to enjoy.
STEER CLEAR of Red Robin Cedar Park. It is a bad, low quality version of the Red Robin...
