First time at a Freebirds and will NOT be back! The manager Tonya Dryden has very little patience and empathy for customers and should think about attending an anger management class because she does not handle stress well. If you ever go please steer clear of the elderly woman who is on the shorter side with short gray hair and has some tattoos on her arms. I have never been to Freebirds and was excited to try it! I downloaded the app and even got a $3 off coupon for signing up for texts. I placed my order then headed over for my order as well as my coworkers who ended up placing an online order since we were going there already. I arrived and got his order and I was denied my online order that I had already paid for because they had a large catering order placed before mine and would be 15+ minutes and was told I could get get online only to be refused service after standing in line all bc the cashier came over to ask me some questions when I got up to order and I guess Tonya was stressed out from the catering order because once she heard we were discussing making my food she interjected herself into the conversation then told me to stop talking to her after she’s the one who started talking to me. I was very confused by that and told her I was talking to the cashier and answering HIS QUESTIONS. She refused to make my food once again after I had already paid and told me to cancel my order. My friend didn’t get to order or get any food on her lunch at all because Tonya declined her service as well all because she didn’t want to make my food and clearly can’t handle stress. It was a pretty traumatizing experience and I hope Tonya seeks out the help she needs to better handle being in food service- maybe she’s been doing it for too long. Then since she said I could cancel my order online I went online and tried, but I couldn’t, called in to ask, and coincidentally she answered in which she quickly told me she had already cancelled the order. At that moment I asked if this is how she handles stressful or not ideal situations in a place of business how I couldn’t get an answer as she hung up on me. Denied my call just like she denied my service. Absolute worst service I have...
Read moreIt's just like Chipotle, only worse quality AND more expensive! Really?! I can get a burrito and drink with guacamole at Chipotle for $10 or less. Here, it cost me $15.53. Not only that, it tasted much more bland, and when you see the toppings behind their counter they don't look nearly as fresh and clean as Chipotle's, they instead look cheap and nasty (and they SURE ARE, if the taste is an indication).
On top of this, they were running a limited time special burrito option, the Texas Brisket, and they have NO indication ANYWHERE in the restaurant that there is a $6.50, yes a $6.50 surcharge for choosing this brisket as the protein. You don't even get much of it, maybe half a cup's worth? My father order a brisket Monster burrito ($9.50 base price) and the price of the burrito ALONE came out to around $17 with tax. WHAT?? Even on the receipt there was no mention of the surcharge. We didn't know until we asked the cashier. You know, the food order-taker could've warned us about this ludicrous charge but she didn't. It feels like a serious money-grab manufactured by corporate.
AT LEAST my father was compensated when he complained to the cashier about this whole issue with the absurd price that we were not warned about. Still, from now on I'm sticking with Chipotle where you get much better prices AND much...
Read moreJust had the worst Freebirds experience I have had in the many years I've been eating here. To start, we placed an online order and were told it would be ready by a certain time. No big deal if it was due to them being busy but it was due to them running out of steak and chicken. When we were given the order, they hadn't even put our daughter's food in the bag. Luckily we checked the bag before leaving and asked them for her food.
It didn't get any better once we got the food back to the house. My wife's burrito was significantly smaller than mine despite us getting the same size and adding roughly the same amount of items. When she opened it up, it was missing 3 items: rice, cheese, and the salsa. My burrito was supposed to have grilled veggies on it but what I got was 1/4 of a red onion that was nor grilled at all. The taste of the onion overpowered everything else until I got fed up and had to unwrap it and take out the rest of the pieces. Our daughter's taco also had corn on it for some reason.
I also did not get the cilantro I asked for and it barely had any pico on it, as well. I did, however, get a bonus item in the form of an overcooked bay leaf. It just seemed like they were not paying attention and were careless when making the food. We will not be coming back to this...
