Wanted to write this review as I think this place could be a 4 or 5 with some (what I think, at least) would be some relatively simple tweaks.
The music was so loud that it was very difficult to have a conversation with our party.
We decided on this place as we figured there’d be plenty of TVs to watch the NHL Stanley Cup game. There could have been more, but I saw 2 TVs in there. I had an angle of the game where I could see half of the game. Might not be an issue for many who are going to just enjoy their company, but that brings me back to my 1st feedback; very loud music. Could add a couple of more TVs (nothing crazy, just a couple of more would work) to give guests who are looking to watch a game that additional option of a good place to eat.
Service was very good. All of the people working there genuinely wanted to help and it was noticeable. Well done.
This is a tough one for me, but I settled on a 3. The cheesy bread sticks or whatever they’re called were probably the most bland cheesy bread sticks I’ve ever eaten. The chicken on the Caesar salad was borderline inedible. It reminded me of a “grilled chicken” option you could get at a gas station at 2am. On the topic of the chicken, I’m sure there’s a reason they don’t freshly grill a chicken breast for just the Caesar salad (heck, they may not even have a grill in their kitchen). If that’s the case, I get it. But please, don’t order the grilled chicken on top of the Caesar salad. It was awful; and that’s probably describing it, generously. Next, the Brussels sprouts and broccoli and cauliflower appetizers. I didn’t like them; very bland. I like them cooked a bit more and not such a raw/hard-to-chew texture. Again, personal preference, there, so take that with a grain of salt. But also the flavor was not there. I’d be okay with eating these veggies on the more raw side if there was a noticeable amount of flavor/sauce with them. Now, let’s talk about some of the food that was enjoyable. The Caesar salad itself was okay, but the Parmesan rosemary crisps they added to the salad were phenomenal. Wish I had omitted the chicken and just asked for a couple extra of those Parmesan crisps. The rosemary really added to an already delicious Parmesan crisp. Next, the Cadillac pizza (Gorgonzola, Fig Preserves, Prosciutto, Parmesan, Balsamic Glaze) was next level! And we even ordered it without the prosciutto as we had some non-meat eaters in our party. 10/10! And I can’t even imagine how much better it would be with the prosciutto on it as the salt from the prosciutto would perfectly balance the sweetness of the fig preserves. I’ll go back solely for that pizza with or without the prosciutto. That good! The cinnamon sticks were given to us as it was our first time to the restaurant. That was a really nice touch. And those were VERY good! Perfect amount of cinnamon flavor and icing. If you have room for dessert, don’t even think twice, order them.
So this was a tough rating to give as some of the food was good while other items were not good. Like I said, I think this could be a 4 or 5 with some tweaks. Maybe either omit the grilled chicken as an option for the Caesar salad and perhaps add a grilled shrimp option (but only if you can truly grill the shrimp in the kitchen). Vegetable appetizers needed help. I’m not culinary-savvy enough to have an even okay suggestion, here. And if it’s not detrimental to the majority of guests (since I fully realize that I’m just one person’s opinion), turn the music down.
I’ll be going here again, but it won’t be a “can’t wait to go back in the next couple of weeks” kind of return. It’ll be when I’m really feeling some uniquely great sweet/savory pizza (“The Cadillac” is what the pizza is called) and some delicious cinnamon dessert sticks.
Thanks for the great...
Read moreMind blowing Detroit Style Pizza discovery. All the pictures from customers are exactly what you get. Listen up, pizza lovers! I stumbled upon what might just be the most INCREDIBLE hidden gem in the Detroit Style Pizza, and I'm still pinching myself! From the moment I walked through the doors, I knew this wasn't going to be your average pizza joint experience. The hostess? Absolutely Phenomenal! While most places greet you with the enthusiasm of a soggy napkin, this young woman actually lit up the room with genuine warmth. She asked about my day, my weekend plans – imagine that! An actual human connection in 2025! Then came the magic duo: Bret (General Manager extraordinaire) and Wiley (Bartender/Front House Manager). These two aren't just running a restaurant – they're crafting relationships and great restaurant experiences! They checked on us like we were family, engaged in real conversations, and – get this – surprised us with complimentary cinnamon sticks that were basically a warm, tasty, delicious delight on a plate. When's the last time you experienced hospitality this genuine? Now, let's talk about the star of the show – that Detroit Style Pizza that had me questioning everything I thought I knew about pizza! The sauce? Perfection in liquid form. The cheese? So perfectly melted it should be illegal. But that CRUST – oh my goodness, that crust! Crispy on the outside, soft, squishy perfection on the inside, like they somehow captured the essence of pizza dreams and baked it to golden deliciousness. I was so absolutely blown away that I found myself back there just three days later – because when you discover pizza nirvana, you don't wait around! Second visit in was even more spectacular! Great greeting from an engaging hostess welcomed my daughter and I, and having the opportunity to be served by Wiley again was an incredible treat. It truly was like seeing a long lost old friend. He let us sit in a booth for over an hour and a half to work on event planning details. But still checked in on us and encouraged us to hangout as long as we wanted. The salads were bursting with fresh, crisp lettuce and generous toppings that made healthy eating feel like a celebration. And the pizza was still hitting every single note perfectly. My daughter had whiskey sours that did not disappoint the palate. The Bottom Line...This place isn't just serving food – they're creating delicious moments. Whether you're planning a family celebration, organizing a work gathering, or just need to treat yourself to something extraordinary, this is your destination. They even do catering! My verdict? RUN, don't walk, to experience this Detroit Style Pizza masterpiece. Your taste buds will thank you, your stomach will be satisfied, and you'll finally understand what customer service is supposed to feel like in this world. Truly, five stars isn't enough for this...
Read moreI'm so glad we found this place. I love Detroit style pizza. And the pizza at Via 313 is so good. We have already been here three times and that is pretty incredible for me because I love trying new things. But when you find somewhere that is consistently good, add bonus points for being not too far away, it's nice to count on them for a good meal. Their staff is also so kind and accommodating. I can almost go for a slice right now haha. I tried the cinnamon sticks last time with the homemade cream cheese frosting and they are divine. I feel like a lot of pizza places do a cinnamon stick because they can use the same dough but it's a bit of an afterthought and never very good. Not so at Via 313, their cinnamon sticks might even be the star of the show. You can see how heavy-handed they are when they top them with cinnamon and sugar. And the dough is the perfect dough for cinnamon sticks. Their homemade cream cheese frosting is addictive. Gosh I really want to be there eating this food right now haha. Highly recommended to fans of pizza. And if you have never had Detroit style give it a whirl or they also have a thin crust bar style for those who just don't get down with a thick crust. You are missing out though if you don't try the Detroit style haha. I personally like mine well done but be prepared to wait because it's already a thick crust so you just have to be patient if you like it like that. Can't wait...
