This is the last time I'll be visiting this restaurant after eating here once before. I ordered Chicken Parm and the food was ok. The garlic bread was over seasoned and was hard to eat due to the salt. The waitress tried to hurry me out of the restaurant after having been there for 20 minutes. Another waitress was literally sweeping the floor directly into my food when she could have just waited or swept another area. When I made her aware of what she was doing, she gave me an attitude. People are so unintelligent to allow their emotions or personal opinions to affect their take home pay, especially in this economy. As a waiter or waitress you should maintain a high level of hospitality and provide the best possible service to all so that people would want to leave you a tip. After consulting with a few very successful people, I've learned that it's best to be kind to all and do your very best at whatever task you're assigned. I wanted the best possible experience after a long day at work and chose Vesuvios, and ended up leaving feeling great, but sad for those who don't get that your success in life is proportional to the service you provide to others. Perhaps they feel like their success in life is guaranteed regardless of how they treat others.....it...
Read moreWent on a Monday night around 7:30. Absolutely no crowd but I've been there also on a weekend night at 'rush hour' in 2015/2016 and I recall having an extended wait to get a seat. Tonight I just went with my two kids and I got the Veggie delight calzone without mushrooms. It was good, but I've NEVER heard of a calzone having green olives. It created an overly salty taste to me, but it was still good! 1 kids menu cheese pizza, 1 meatball hoagie and my veggie calzone. For the the three of us and a slice of tiramisu ($5.95!) And a calzone ($2 or $3), the bill came to $36 or $37. Def a little pricey, but I wanted to treat us after my first week of work :) The waitress was very friendly and brought me a take home box without even my asking! Unfortunately, we had to leave in a bit of a rush as my youngest had a severe headache and even after two pain relievers, it had spread to the rest of her body and she was sitting there silently crying. Good food, small bar (confusing as its a separate door for food seating and one for the bar. Only confusing if it is crowded as I recall from my only other visit years ago!) Id recommend but wouldnt take any posh clientele or true Italian...
Read moreExpect your bill to be higher than menu pricing. They have a sign on the bar side but not dining side about 4% increase but it should be 9% increase.
Foods mostly delicious, only issue was personal preference of garlic salt vs garlic powder or fresh garlic on the bread. And gluten free pasta doesn't come in the long pasta strands so you can't twirl your pasta, but it was a huge portion and very delicious. I'll have food for 2 more meals! So cost for me wasn't an issue.
Excellent service on the staff, except manager wouldn't talk to us. She was "busy". I've never had any management not come to the table.
To get a 5* you would need pricing to be updated on the menus and managers that talk to customers.
She did, however, say to credit us what was higher, to which I disagreed with. It was almost like she just wanted to "shut us up and make us happy" but I told the staff that wasn't what we wanted. We want honesty. If you are going to raise prices, pull them out and put stickers over then to reflect the temporary increase. Simple! Or post a note on them to say that prices may be higher. (People don't read but we do)
When the worlds prices lower,...
