(Photo of Bob Evans' Thanksgiving meal!!! : D)- I'm done with Cracker Barrel on Thanksgiving! I worked for this restaurant for roughly six years as a waitress and have spent most of my Thanksgivings (as a waitress and afterward) eating there on Thanksgiving day. Each year, Cracker Barrel gets more controlling about what the customers should eat on Thanksgiving, and I have had enough of it. Last year, I was forced to purchase green beans with my meal that I did not eat because they refused to modify it and give me a side that I WOULD EAT and enjoy. After all, I am paying for the meal, right? This year, they have forfeited their entire lunch menu online, and I cannot even order an individual side to replace the green beans they will force upon me and take my money for. Nope! I'm done! I refuse to play these games. I will no longer spend my hard-earned money on a company that does not deserve it. Moving forward, starting this year, each year, I will make it my goal to ENJOY my Thanksgiving meal at other restaurants, beginning with Bob Evans, until I find a place that respects and values me as an individual/ PAYING CUSTOMER WITH A CHOICE who does not wish to eat what Cracker Barrel wants me to eat (and pay for). Good luck, and good riddance! I hope your Thanksgiving numbers drop substantially.
What a terrible way to treat your loyal customers, or customers in general. Cracker Barrel, feel free to tell me/your customers what to eat when you start giving away your food. Until then, stay in your lane and JUST COOK THE FOOD, you here? LOL. Ugh. If you are tired of Cracker Barrel's controlling behavior and emotional abuse, you do not have to continue to put up with it. Stop eating there. I know I will. I will have a Happy Thanksgiving! : D #byebyeCrackerBarrel #helloBobEvans
UPDATE: I went to Bob Evans (BE) and completely forgot Cracker Barrel (CB) was ever a thing. Lol. The food was amazing! The turkey, stuffing, turkey gravy, potatoes, mac and cheese, and everything was so flavorful and delicious! I was pleasantly surprised.
Most importantly, they allowed me to switch out the green beans for mac and cheese. Whoop, whoop! My money, my choice! I love that they get that.
BE does not have sweet potato casserole; however, their rolls are soft and have a sweet aftertaste, and their pumpkin pie was better than CBs. Ten years of Thanksgiving at CB every year. After going to BE once, I have moved on. I cannot believe I was so closed-minded. BE was organized, and I was in and out in less than one minute. That has NEVER happened at CB. Best of all, their Thanksgiving Meal weighs more and costs less than Cracker Barrels. Wow! I have no reason to ever go back to CB!...
Read moreHello, just sharing an awful experience me and my girlfriend had at the location in Centerville Ohio on Wilmington Pike. We went in on Saturday November 12th at around 6.20 pm knowing it was busy. We checked in and the lady told us about 10 minutes or so before getting seated. It toke a little longer to get seated and while waiting we heard the lady at the check-in tell another lady the delays were due to kitchen staff shortage which we all understand todays economy and workforce. Issue #1, well because the lady who was talking to the check-in lady complained of time to get seated she seated her group before me and my girlfriend. Issue #2, after being sat at around 650p we were sitting there waiting on a server to help us. Well, we literally walked in to seating area with another group and we were seated at the same time. After sitting there and waiting patiently and 3 different servers were in our area or walked by us as we sat there and another young lady with a tablet was in that area. After sitting for 25 minutes and still no server coming to help us, I guess issues 3 and 4 almost happened together and were the final straws. Issue 3, the group we walked back was being served their food now and still no server had helped us YET. Issue 4, a couple sat down at the table behind us and was sitting there no less than 3 minutes and boom, one of the 3 servers that had been floating in our area went and toke their order. Was we invisible? Not sure why we couldn't get any service but after that last issue we left very mad and may never go back. We have been to that location at least 5-6 times and have been happy up to that point. I am in retail so I know how this works. You don't hear about the 5-6 times we were happy but you hear about the 1 time we weren't and this is that case. I get it with help and all and delays (and we were very patient) but this was 100% not acceptable on how this service was provided, or should I say not provided. Sorry for long review but I wanted to hit all the...
Read moreJust had one of the worse service experiences ever at your Centerville location at 5770 Wilmington Pike. Upon arriving we were sat pretty quickly. And we sat, we sat, and we sat. Ten minutes, seven servers walked by and still no one came by the table to greet us or offer us drinks. We decided to leave, since it's rather distasteful to sit in a public place and be openly ignored by service staff and management. On our way out, the missing server, whom I felt compelled to send out a search team for suddenly appeared and said "You were sitting at that table weren't you?." We said yes, and she said " oh they moved things around, I didn't know you needed help, go ahead and have a seat. " Mind you she was laughing the entire time and wasn't taking anything seriously. What surprised me was her mental acuity and her superb observation skills in immediately identifying us as the table that she so skillfully ignored. At the point, a manager appeared and said, "have a seat and I'll take care of you." Upon learning that I was halfway to the exit, the manager just shrugged his shoulders and walked away, saying nothing more. Now I believe in standards when I choose to eat at a restaurant. I felt that you had these standards, but obviously not.
That's it. I'd be happy to return. However given the fact that me and my family were ignored, the waitress obviously knew she ignored us because she acknowledged the table we had vacated and then the manager simply shrugging his shoulders reminds me of someone who simply could care less.
Bottom line: Thank you Bob Evans across the street for providing awesome service, great smiles, fresh coffee, and some of the best and freshly prepared food that erased all of the negativity experienced by Cracker Barrel's failure to live up to...
