Waffle House — Restaurant in Centerville

The service was slow and this was my second time here. I went about 2 weeks ago and the experience was awesome, which is why I decided to come back. The food was hot and fresh and the restaurant was one of the most clean Waffle Houses I ever went to. So I figured it would be the same this time around. However tonight was not good at all!!! We got our waffles first then the rest of our food 15 minutes later. When the food did come. The bacon was literally burnt to a crisp and the eggs were just cooked wayyy too hard and they didn't hold the EGG SHELLS!!! My plate also came with an open strawberry jelly??? Not sure what that was about but the waiter said it was to help the cook know which plate belongs to which table. However it was nasty as it looked like it was recycled from another customer's plate which is very nasty and unsanitary. When it came time to check out, their CC system was down and I was asked to either leave my CC number or go to an ATM to get money out and bring it back since I didn't have cash. I declined both options as this was again another inconvenience and I wasn't about to risk somebody going on a shopping spree with my CC information. I made it clear that I wasn't trying to get a free meal although the food was unfavorable, I ended up paying the waiter via cash app and she told her superior that she would pay the bill later...I guess. Never...

Apparently, this was not a good day at the Awful Waffle. My sister is queen of the Waffle House, eating there several days of the week. She specifically picked out one waitress and asked where her section was and we sat at one of her tables. They conversed for a few moments and she took my order. They already know my sister's order. Then we waited and waited some more for drinks, finally getting them just before our food arrived. Well, my food and half of my sister's. We still had no silverware except the dirty steak knife that the waitress had handed my sister. I could at least eat the burger part of my meal. It took a few more minutes to get silverware, but we were finally able to eat. My cheeseburger and hash browns were pretty tasty, just everything else...
