I grew up in Oklahoma so I've eaten Sonic all my life. I live in Franklin County Pennsylvania now and the Chambersburg Pennsylvania Sonic has become the worst restaurant in town.
This actually happened, no joke... I ordered through the online app. I get to stall 18. I loudly and obnoxiously hear, Go to the drive thru. Clearly, they are understaffed. After we told them it was an online order, they loudly and obnoxiously said, Stay There. No manners, just plain rude.
Here's the kicker. Onion rings were in my order but not in my bag. They were already paid for. I get it, mistakes happen. Perhaps an employee just forgot to place them in the sack. When we pressed the buzzer at stall 18 and told them we didn't get our onion rings, the girl said, we don't have onion rings right now.
Think about it. We paid for onion rings. They didn't have onion rings. They did not tell us they did not have onion rings. They were perfectly fine taking our money for onion rings. Where I come from that is called STEALING!!!
After I called them on their dirty little trick, they substituted some mozzarella sticks which are normally delicious but tasted cold. They were horrible.
SONIC CHAMBERSBURG PENNSYLVANIA. HIRE MORE PEOPLE. TRAIN YOUR STAFF. SERVE GOOD FOOD AND DON'T STEAL FROM THE CUSTOMER.
IF you can't do the above, shut down, go away and leave because the Sonic's in the South and Midwest do it right.

Read moreNot sure if it all has to do with the staff at the time or the order/ prosses they have to follow while making food because in the past this location has cranked out some very good food for me. But this time it's almost a carbon copy of what I've read in other reviews. Ordered a burger and it was so cool right out of the bag the cheese didn't even melt at all had the faintest of warmth and I had just left the parking lot. Same with the small order of fries for my son. Now this is partially my fault because I didn't pay close enough attention when ordering at the screen but I clearly remember asking for a number 12 (sauce covered jumbo popcorn chicken) with Honey Bbq when I got home and pulled it out I received buffalo. When I checked my receipt it did say buffalo to which is why I'm partially to blame for not catching the miscommunication. The wait did seam a little excessive for the little business that was there especially since some of my items did come out cold. If it was just me I probably would have checked the food before leaving but I wanted to get my son home so he could eat and sent back the mistakes but was already on the move when I found a few. The staff I did deal with, over the com. and delivering food to the stall, was very friendly. Always willing to give another chance so will more than likely go back and try them again......
Read moreStopped by here today because my family and I wanted to try some of the new items that Sonic has been advertising lately including the Shark Week Slush and the Sour Patch Kids Slush Float. This was or these drinks rather were the sole reason for our visit. We first parked at one of the kiosk and it was not working. We then parked at a second kiosk and then pushed the button to make our order. The lady on the other end then told us that they were short staffed and that they would be able to better serve us in the drive-through. Once in the drive-through I ordered our drinks and I was informed by the lady on the other end that they were out of both. So like I said at the beginning these drinks being the reason we were there we left and went somewhere else. I was then informed by my daughter that she was there recently with friends and when they pushed the button at the kiosk to order they just never answered them back so they went somewhere else. My wife also had a similar experience where they told her that she had to go through the drive-through but the line was a mile long so she also went somewhere else. Same ol story different day. Another business becomes an apparent victim of COVID-19 because we had been to this particular Sonic location several times before and never had any issues...
