ALDI — Local services in Chambersburg

I'm 72, have breathing issues and generally just old and slow. I went to Aldi today and locked my keys in the car but, ATM card in hand. I found the manager Shelby and she called over Gavin. Shelby got me a chair, both offered drinks and water to me. Gavin called my road side assistance for me and took care of the call for me. I did my shopping, paid and sat back down in my chair. Every few minutes one of them checked on me. When the toe truck came, Gavin said it was too cold for me to wait outside and he himself went out in the cold till they unlocked my car. He walked me out and loaded my groceries. Shelby told me not to work myself. That she would take care of things and we would figure it out together. What wonderful employees. I like Aldi. I come here pretty often. If you don't mind buying off-brand, Aldi is a great place to get some groceries. They have a lot of options for organic, non-GMO and fair trade items. They have the best priced produce of just about any place in town. Occasionally, you can find some really cool stuff in the seasonal section.

Unfortunately, the staff isn't very friendly. I know their job is efficiency but the girl working as a cashier when I was there most recently didn't greet me, didn't smile and didn't make eye contact. All she said was "move your cart closer" in a curt tone. I don't remember her name but she had a couple face piercings.

I can do about 80% of my grocery shopping at Aldi, and still purchase healthy, natural, and organic food. This new store is easy to navigate, roomy, and well stocked. Employees are friendly and efficient, and make you feel welcomed there. If you need help finding something, they go out of their way to take you right to the item. Produce is generally fresh and fantastically priced. Prices are amazing in general, and even lower than Walmart.

Parking lot is small and awkward, not a fan of that. But even that won't make me lower my rating because I love Aldi. Shop...
