**READ THIS BEFORE STAYING HERE** I stayed at this hotel just a couple of days ago, from Friday night through Sunday morning. When we arrived, the place initially seemed decent—the exterior was in good shape, and even the common areas looked nice and well-maintained. However, upon entering our room, I immediately began noticing how dirty everything was inside. There appeared to be BBQ sauce on both the window curtains and one of the bedspreads, a pink waxy-looking substance spilled on the carpet between the beds, and small pieces of debris (trash) around the sides of the mini-fridge and along the beds. In the bathroom, one of the four lightbulbs was burned out, and I found a couple of coins, part of a plastic bag, a pile of ash in the corner behind the garbage can, and the same pink waxy substance sprayed on the wall and floor by the garbage can. At the time, I didn’t think too much of it. Later that night, after we returned from dinner and tried to use the TV, it wouldn’t load anything. I went down to the front desk and asked the older woman working if she could help get the TV working. She became defensive and acted very oddly. At one point, I asked why she was behaving so strangely, as her responses were unusually hostile for such a simple request. She claimed I was yelling and that she was nervous—though I had not raised my voice at any point. I even laughed and asked if it was her first day in customer service, as I was baffled by her reactions to my basic questions. Eventually, she contacted a maintenance worker, who was able to help. He explained that the TV system had just been changed the day before and, somehow, our room had been missed in the update. While fixing the TV, he moved the dresser and started picking up miscellaneous trash from behind it, telling us our belongings had fallen back there. They weren’t ours, but I threw the items away for him. Later, when I took a shower and stepped out, I noticed more items under the sink basin—a purple plastic container, what looked like the rest of the plastic bag from behind the door, and a small cardboard box. By then, I was becoming increasingly frustrated with the room’s condition, but I still tried to overlook it. On Saturday night, while sitting in a chair, I glanced behind the bed and saw what looked like a piece of a broken bottle. I didn’t investigate further since the others I was staying with were asleep. The next morning, I took a photo of it—and when I looked closer at the picture, I realized there was something else behind it. I took another photo and saw a hypodermic needle lying on the floor under the head of the bed. I wish I had noticed that sooner, because that was completely unacceptable and pushed me past the point of tolerating the condition of the room. In hindsight, the pink waxy substance was likely candle wax, which unfortunately makes more sense in light of finding the needle. I strongly suggest finding another place to stay unless you're comfortable with filthy rooms and potentially hazardous items left behind by previous guests. I know I’ll never return to this location—you couldn’t pay me to stay here again.

Upon checking in, I had a reservation. I was not greeted by a welcoming front desk associate. She was unfriendly and lacked basic customer service skills. What should have been a simple check-in process took 15 minutes, and there started to become a line behind me of others waiting to check in. Once I was checked in, She announced my room number loud enough for the entire lobby to hear what room I was staying in, so now everyone can see I was traveling alone and where to find me. GREAT! Upon entering my room, there was an over whelming chemical smell like it had been fumigated or something from pets or even pests. The carpets were old and stained everywhere. The walls had stains and marks all over them. The beds were half-heartedly made, and since when did hotels switch to throw pillows instead of real pillows on the beds? They're so small now. The refrigerator wasn't turned on but clean inside. The alarm clock was blinking, and one of the light bulbs next to the bed was blown. The furniture was dated and missing a few accent pieces off the front of them. The continental breakfast has unrealistic hours. 7-9 am. The website stated there was room for over size vehicle parking at this hotel. The parking lot is small, and there is not much room to park if you are pulling a trailer or are in a moving truck. The shower worked, there were clean towels, and the toilet flushed. It worked for an overnight stay just passing through town. There are nicer and better hotels in the same area to stay at.

Everything about our stay was great UNTIL the next morning. The hot tub water was filthy. No eggs or meat for breakfast, and the hot oatmeal was extremely watery-not much for oats. Then when we returned to our room our door keys wouldn't work. After the guy at the front desk tried a few times, we realized there was a real problem--all the while we were being very delayed in our getting back on the road. He called his manager who said "she would be right in" (She never did show up for the next 1.5 hours we were there). I asked how long it would take and he didn't answer. The manager lady called the front desk guy back and tried to walk him thru the process of re-keying the door, and that was in the middle of him trying to work the front desk AND the breakfast room, as he was the only staff there that I was aware of. The guy had her on speaker phone and we could hear her loudly instructing him what to do and if he didn't understand, she was belittling him. The poor kid, he was a bit frazzled. About an hour later he got our door open. This was an EXTREME inconvenience to us as we were on a timeline, and I asked to have our room refunded. The young guy at the desk didn't know how to do it and I asked him to get his manager on the phone. When she answered I tried to explain our situation and she wouldn't listen to me and I asked her to "listen" and she informed me that "you don't tell ME to listen." So I walked away from the phone call. I even called the property owners number, aa well as left a message, but obviously, they are not interested in customer satisfaction. As senior citizens, we have traveled across this country and stayed at numerous motels and hotels of all shapes and sizes and prices, but I have NEVER received such a disrespectful, errogant response from a manager of any customer service establishment. Shame on them. Apparently the reviews of those who had nice things to say about this manager were talking to the other side of her...

I am staying at Country Inn and suites before and it's always been a nice stay. But on July 2, me and my husband and two children stayed at the Chambersburg location you walk in and it looks like a very nice hotel what you would expect a little further you'll find the The roaches, what are they crawling on the floors smashed on walls or their dead bodies on the floor. And if you are traveling with a small child like we were and you choose to stay here, I suggest you check the floors everywhere. My daughter was next to the garbage can by the TV and picked up but look Well, none of us like Altoids so I ran over and grab it from her, but it wasn't. It was a roach poison tablet, and there were seven of them just sitting on the floor randomly along the wall under the air conditioners in the Bathroom. I contacted her booking company to see what we could do, they contacted the front desk or I was informed they told them that they would not refund her money, but we could move to a different room. Must be clear if you have in one room they are going to be in the entire hotel room an option. I went down to the front desk to speak with them about this. I was threatened with the police after they almost poisoned my child. I should've just let them press charges for attempted poisoning of a two year old. If you're going to be staying in the Chambersburg area, please I beg you to go anywhere , other than hotel options right down the street as we found out as we flood this hotel at 10 o'clock at night after being on the road for 14 hours. And don't bother trying to contact the general manager, not even choice hotels has been able to get a hold of her regarding this to...
