What’s the deal with the bread…? This is the third time in a row my roommate and I have come to this Longhorn, in just over a month, and been told they didn’t have any bread. Just seems odd. I asked our server about it, and she said it had something to do with them having a new kitchen manager who wasn’t ordering enough. She also mentioned being able to count on one hand how many times they’ve run out of it in the many years she’s been employed there. So, what gives…? I hate to complain about something that may seem trivial, but I love their bread, and it’s one of the reasons I go there over other chain steakhouses. Prior to our last three visits, they’d never run out (during any of our visits), and we’ve been going to this location 3 or 4 times a month for years.
Anyway, we ordered what we pretty much always order. Started off with their wing appetizer, which was amazing as always. Longhorn is literally the only restaurant I ever order wings from, because their dry rub is THAT good, without being super messy - especially with their ranch. Would HIGHLY recommend them. For entrees, both of us ordered filets. Mine was cooked perfectly. My roommate’s wasn’t (even though he said it was when our server asked him to cut into it - that’s on him for not speaking up). I had the broccoli and fries as my sides. Delicious. They have some of the best fries I’ve ever had, and the broccoli was full of flavor. My roommate had the house salad and asparagus. All good. Honestly, never had a side at this location that wasn’t great. Our server was amazing, and very personable. Never had to ask for anything. The only reason I’m leaving a 4 star review instead of 5 is because of the lack of bread. The first time it happened - okay, no biggie. The second time, I was disappointed. This time, I was kind of annoyed. For me, it feels like going to Olive Garden and being told they ran out of breadsticks.
Only one other complaint…I can’t remember how long ago it was, but it’s been at least a couple months…I ordered a medium rare filet, and it came out well done. When I say well, I mean no pink in sight, and it was as tough as a sirloin. This was the first time in my life I’d ever sent food back to be remade (I’m 31). A few minutes later, the kitchen manager came out and tried to tell me they couldn’t cook the steak any closer to medium rare than they did because of its size, which made zero sense. I was so dumbfounded, I just kind of looked at him for a a few seconds before explaining that I order the same steak, cooked the same way, every time we come in, and it’s never been that well done or tough. He said they could remake it but couldn’t guarantee it would be medium rare. Like, what…? I just said, “Okay, thank you!” Anyway, the remake was (of course) fine, but the way the manager handled the situation definitely wasn’t. Being a server myself, I would NEVER try to gaslight a table, and having a manager do that…I was truly shocked. I’m just hoping the current kitchen manager (whether they’re the newer one or the one I just mentioned) figures everything out soon, because I used to think of this location as the best Longhorn I’ve...
Read moreReally a home cooking type of family but decided to go out to dinner and chose longhorn because we had never eaten there before. I was initially surprised there was no wait for it being a Friday evening and my family of five was seated pretty directly. Upon our waitress eventually coming to our table to take a drink order, my wife asked if they had regular lemonade or just raspberry lemonade because that's what was stated on the menu. The reply was well raspberry lemonade has to come from somewhere. I was inclined and chose not to ask, well okay ma'am do you guys fresh squeeze raspberries to make regular lemonade raspberry lemonade or do you just add in a raspberry concentrate. Just wanted to know if you guys had lemonade and a simple yes or no would have sufficed. So even acknowledging the remarks she and I both chose to ignore it and continue to order our dinner. I was hungry and I'm a hard worker making my order alone with no alcohol a $65 plate on top of my wife's order and our three children. Throughout the whole ordering process we both felt the very short and unprofessionalism coming from our waitress. She took our order and that was the last I saw her up until I chose to pay for what I consumed and wanted nothing else. One female brought us our drinks while a completely different waiter brought us our appetizers. Our waitress vanished and was going to receive the 25% gratuity off of a $200 bill. We watched a gentleman carry a beverage to every table asking if someone had ordered it and it eventually came to our table before my wife said no we did not. After continuing to walk through the restaurant asking guest if they ordered this beverage I sat back at the table and somehow became the receiver of this community Coke that had traveled through the restaurant multiple times. Did not expect this type of service and rather than making the issues relevant I simply asked for my bill canceled my order and chose to leave. Restaurant manager did pay whatever the bill consisted of even though I was willing to. I know things are hard and have been especially for the restaurant business but that doesn't excuse sacrificing quality. Stand by what made your business what it is even though it is hard to navigate this very sensitive world. A world where you cannot say anything because it gets turned into a male or female situation, a black or white situation, or some other form discriminatory act simply because I was trying to have a dinner without someone else's personal conflicts becoming relevant in my life and then me and my family becoming the receiver of a very misguided...
Read moreI was actually here maybe a week or two ago, and I have been meaning to make a review, so here I am. Before I showed up here, I ended up at Texas Roadhouse, trying to fulfill my desire for a large slab of steak. I am a steak guy through and through, but I can't always cook them when I want to. So, in turn I go out to get my fix. However, this can get hectic, due to me having very serious anxiety. I ended up leaving Texas Roadhouse due to how busy it really was, and came here. It was very quiet and it made it much easier to try and enjoy my meal. My waitress was a woman named Tess. Tess was a very helpful and kind woman, making sure everything I needed was taken care of, and even let me know that in a bit, a group of 19 people were going to be coming in to eat. It is always nice to get a chance to prepare for a situation like that, and she was even kind enough to offer me a chance to relocate to a better spot when things got bad. She always checked in, made sure I was doing OK, and enjoying my time. I got my food in a timely manner and ate, enjoying what I could. (Steak was kinda iffy, nothing to really write home about. It was the larger bone in steak, forgot what its called.) When the group arrived, I was almost done with my steak, AND SHE REMEMBERED TO ASK IF I WANTED TO MOVE! With my dinner almost done, I didn't feel comfortable relocating to another table for just a few more bites of my meal, and just forgo dessert, so I mentioned I was fine. I finished my dinner, and got the check. She was quick and attentive to my needs and my feelings, and did her best to get me out to prevent an emotional situation of my own. Most of the time to handle my ability to handle large scale restaurants, I end up having someone with me to make it more tolerable, or going to places that are either empty or even as soon as they open. (No one ever eats right when a restaurant opens, prime time to truly relax and enjoy my food.) Tess herself made my experience 1000 times better, just by being present, attending to needs well out of others wheelhouse. Thank you again for the great service, and I hope to return to this...
