After many times of driving by and wanting to give this place a shot, we did. The Fish & Chips were just okay. The chips (fries) were honestly not good, extremely soggy. However, the fish itself was tasty! We also tried the fish sandwich and probably would get that again, if we were to come back. But overall, we were disappointed with our food. The best part about Pirates is the prices. Was honestly shocked compared to other places in the Valley. Probably because it's cash only but still, nice surprise.

I ordered the fish and chips, since this place is primarily a fish and chips restaurant, and the fish are really just wider rectangular fish sticks, like a McFish patty. Everything tasted like it was just cooked frozen food. For a place specializing in fish and chips, and having competition for that same dish at both Murphy's and San Tan brewery down the street, I was expecting better. Skip this place and get real battered fish and chips elsewhere Also, be advised that they only accept cash.

Ordered the #2 fish shrimp and chips combo, shrimp was great l, and the fish was pretty good too. I wasn’t wild about the fries, to much like a frozen bag fry. I assume the fish and shrimp is pre breaded and frozen but still had good taste. As for the pirate sauce, it was different, not a taste I’m used to when eating fish or shrimp, but it wasn’t bad. Definitely a good little fish and chips spot! Place was extremely busy, so that’s gotta tell you something!

First time eating at a Pirate’s. We decided to give it a try and compare to Pete’s. Very very similar and I can almost say I like PIRATE’S better. First of all, not as far to drive. Also shrimp basket was better. We enjoyed the large crabettes. Prices, “cash only”, “Pirate sauce” all similar to Pete’s. Can’t give it 5 stars for several reasons. It was fast food after all. Also trash cans overflowing. Napkins, straw papers, rubber gloves, all over patio dining area. Kind of takes your appetite away. They weren’t busy on Saturday about 4 pm. So there was no excuse for an employee to spend 5 min for quick clean up. I’m 67 and I could have done it in that amount of time. After we ate, I took a clean napkin and went around picking up some of the nastier trash. An elderly man and his wife had just ordered, (he said he’s a regular customer who defected from Pete’s a few years ago where he had been buying since 1952!!). This man saw me picking up trash so he started helping me. We’ll return but certainly hoping the owner admonishes the employees that a clean eating area is important. Every hour, someone should be out there picking up trash dropped from rude customers, emptying trash cans, and wiping down tables. The black patio tables on the corner—are they Pirate’s? They’re scattered and one is next to a trash can on the corner. White bird droppings all over. So great food—but area very dirty. Hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised next time we go. Who is the owner, by the way? I tried to google the information...

I saw this little place and decided to give it a try, the first time I went there, I saw it was cash only(they should put an ATM out there and make $ on fees) so I decided to come back later.

Finally, today I had cash in my pocket(for once) so I decided to hit up the Pirates Fish and Chips. The menu was pretty basic which made it easy to decide. I chose the 2 piece fish and chips, and a double pirate burger.

I received my order pretty quick, the food was nicely wrapped and fresh off the grill/out of the oil, the burger had great flavor, and was nicely dressed, the fish was nice and hot, and not greasy which was nice, the fish was sitting on top of a nice portion of fries that was plenty to eat with my burger and fish. The fish had good flavor and was nice and crispy, their special sauce was pretty good with the fish and fries, its like hints of hot sauce with some tangy flavor also.

Now keep in mind, this place is not fine dining by any means, what it is, is frozen fish/burger/chicken, etc prepared with love, the food has good flavor, isn't over priced, and I was completely satisfied with my order for what I spent.

I hope this helps others make a somewhat informed decision when making their...

EDITED MY REVIEW BELOW: We get food from here every friday. Very pleased with the shrimp, which I had for the very first time last week. Taste great and a very good size and great quantity. The only thing I suggest is that they cook their French fries longer. They are not cooked long enough. So when we get home with the food we throw the french fries in the oven to cook just a little bit longer and they turn out very well. I noticed on other reviews people commented on the fries also. Other than that it's a great place to eat. You can tell that by how busy they are. Well I have to lower my review on this place. Went there today and the shrimp was overcooked that I could barely chew the sides of it it was so hard. The fish was overcooked also. I asked for the fries to be a little more done. I should have never asked and heated them up at home myself. They were hard as a rock by the time I got home. The quality has definitely gone down each week. The sauce they have is different and helps cover...
