This was our second time at Tipsy Egg and we were excited to try new items after having a good experience the first time. However, it fell short of expectations.
While our server was sweet she did not provide the best experience. My husband ordered a side of bacon and never got it. I asked for jam and never got it. We had to ask for waters which I think should be standard when patrons get to a table. She also didn’t stop by the table very often so we had to actively try to catch her eye to get water. It seems like she was a new server which I get but the staff needs a little extra training.
The food was okay. We ordered the Yuzu Mint pancakes and the Crazy Scrambler. The pancakes were standard-not bad, not stellar-and the yuzu mint flavor came from the mascarpone on top of the cakes. It was not a “flavor experience” that I thought it’d be. Mostly tasted the mint and very little of the yuzu…the dish could have been brighter. The mint was also dried which does not go as well with citrusy yuzu as fresh mint would. The Scrambler was more of an omelet than a scramble which was disappointing. The egg was also over cooked as I tend to like light scrambles and fluffier eggs. The jalapeños, tomato, and white onion sat on top of the omelet and didn’t really add anything flavor wise. It might have been better if they were sautéed and incorporated into the omelet/scrambler; or if it was more finely diced and closer to a pico de gallo.
I also got a cold brew coffee and was taken aback when I took my first sip of the overly carbonated coffee drink. I definitely did not expect a carbonated cold brew so I suggest that the servers warn patrons since they might be expecting flat/still cold brew. If they plan to keep this as a draft, I might suggest switching to nitro.
Overall, disappointing but I would give it one more try given that our first experience was...

I cannot stress enough how disappointing this place is. Only highlight, maybe, is the bar and the $5 4th of July mimosas.
We ordered the Enchilada Omelet, which first of all is more like fried eggs, and was cooked well done with stuff “mixed” in… sort of. Firstly, I ordered with no jalapeños and they got that wrong. Imagine my surprise when my mouth was suddenly on fire upon taking the first bite. What if I was allergic? Not sure how they got that wrong in the kitchen but Tom put it into the system correctly and read it back to us. Another thing we found odd was that the chopped onions were served raw sitting on top of the “omelet” not mixed in, not cooked.
Round one got sent back for a redo. Second try came out as requested but still way over cooked. Like fried hard. Not sure why people are raving about this place. Maybe they’re drunk enough not to care about overpriced improperly cooked food.
The manager who was working today was obviously not informed of the mistake as she came by and asked how we were doing, no apology, no acknowledgement. The bill was presented and we were charged full price, despite the error.
This was our first, and...
Read moreOk - here’s an honest factual review - we’d seen the reviews and thought we’d head out for a brunch. Not too busy, our server was very attentive and maybe a bit overwhelmed with all the tables he had to look after. Good menu with lots of choice No fresh orange juice but cute plates that food came on My French toast was ok, I’ve had better but it wasn’t bad but nothing to rave over. My friend said his French toast with all the fruit and cream was delicious The order of a burger with an egg arrived, without the egg! Asking if they had lattes and cappuccino was happily received, however when it arrived it wasn’t a cappuccino and our server was adamant it was! - he brought another that looked exactly the same - no frothy milk at all, so explaining it wasn’t one as no froth or steamed milk in it to him we were told it was and nothing would change his mind lol ( photo to show the “Cappuccino” on offer at Tipsy Egg) Overall a nice place to go to and food good, however a little revival may be needed and spoons provided when getting hot drinks - I stirred my coffee...
