I went on a Thursday night at 10:15pm and the place was packed. I ordered and paid for two Moltn cookies at the kiosk but I waited about 10 minutes before I could flag a staff member to ask for suggestions to try out a New Zealand style soft serve option. It was a bit of a madhouse with three staff members working their tails off, nonstop. It was about 30 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I walked out with a cup of ice cream and two cookies. But it was clear so many others were waiting just as long, and the staff were simply overwhelmed with demand.
I ordered the New Zealand style ice cream, strawberries with vanilla ice cream base. They have vegan options for the base flavor too. My toppings were strawberry shortcake crumble and strawberry drizzle. Despite the long wait, it was delicious. Tasted very fresh and flavorful, and they gave me a large cup piled high.
Aside from the crazy atmosphere and demand on a Thursday night late, just before closing...
The menu on the various review and listing sites differs from what's in person, so fair warning. I went in thinking I'd get the espresso ice cream and that wasn't an option. Also, $8.99 for a drizzle of strawberry? That seems like a typo on the posted menu. It wasn't a dip, but an actual drizzle, and neither would be worth a $9 up charge for a topping. Something seems off about that...I could not have read that correctly!
I'd definitely like to come back to try the various flavors of "dirty soda" and unique drinks, plus the soft serve varieties. Plenty on the menu that pique my curiosity.
As for the Moltn cookies, I was really not impressed. $5.99 for the larger cookies and even though they pulled mine directly off the warming tray, it was not warm, not "molten" and definitely not worth $6 a piece. I guess it's cool to have a place that offers all different kinds of treats and desserts, but compared to competitor fresh-made cookie companies in the area, this was a swing and a miss for me.
But like I said, I'll be back to try out the drinks and other soft serve flavor combos. It's a nice late night option for those with a...
Read moreWe came here after taking my kid to me land next door. Great idea putting an ice cream shop next to a child’s play place by the way. The ice cream is pretty good and that’s about it. We ordered a cup of soft serve and a cookie and it took about 10 minutes to get a chocolate vanilla swirl and 30 minutes to get a cookie that was half cooked. For the first 5 minutes I was just waiting behind 2 people with larger orders but everything after that I was just watching the people work there put on a show for some Instagram/tiktok influencers making a video. After we got our ice cream I asked about the cookie my girlfriend had ordered and the guy said they were just putting it in and it would take 10 minutes as it was baked fresh. No problem, I went over to the bubble tea shop and got myself a bubble tea and went back. At this point the 10 minutes was up and he said 15-20 more minutes then went back to making his tiktok video with the influencers. They must have seen my frustration as they brought the cookie out maybe a minute later and it was completely uncooked in the center. They were very apologetic over the whole thing and I’m sure they don’t get wild nova influencers in their store on a regular basis, if you wanna drop in for some soft serve it’s probably a decent spot, I’d just avoid the whole cookie menu unless you got time to wait for a cookie that’s not even good. I didn’t get to try their craft soft serves but they did look...
Read moreI happened to be in the metrotech area and noticed this new cute dessert cafe. The inside was clean and spacious, but unfortunately, there's limited seating (4 tables plus some benches). It was still their soft opening, so they only sold cookies baked to order through the MOLTN website (not the softspot website). I was told that more of their menu should be available on Friday 1/10/25.
As soon as I walked in, I was kindly greeted and given an explanation of what they had available at the moment, prompting me to order on their website. He also told me what else they would offer once they open, including soft serve, crepes, and dirty sodas. As I sat down, I couldn't find the right website, and upon seeing my confusion, the owner(?) came up and clarified which site I should be looking for. I quickly placed my order and walked over to the closest grocery store to pass the time while waiting for my order. I came back 10 minutes later to 2 freshly baked cookies, soft or molten, if you will, on the inside with crispy edges.
I got the s'mores cookie and the red velvet cookie, both of which were delicious. They reheated in the air fryer super well too!
Red velvet cookie: 11/10 perfect cookie all around, amazing texture and flavor, distinctly red velvet with just the right amount of white chocolate chips S'mores cookie: 8/10 super chocolate-y, a little thick, so it was a little too soft in the middle, but...
