Cod Tail Seafood & Chicken — Restaurant in Charleston

The worst customer service experience ever!!!! It was my first time ordering from them last night. I called the restaurant to ask the questions on the quantity and what was incorrect of what I ordered which was crab legs, head of shrimp, and sausage. 5 pieces of thinly sliced sausage is not a .5lb which I paid extra for. I guess the lady didn’t like me asking the quantity question she said ten and she rudely hung up the phone. I called back to tell her that I wasn’t finished asking my questions because my order was still not right for what I received, she started arguing with me. I do have the conversation recorded from the time she picked up the phone said nothing and then proceeded to start arguing! This was my first time ordering from them visiting in Charleston Sc. and that would be my last time ordering from them. You don’t speak or treat your customers with disrespect no matter what the situation is, there is professional was of doing things and if that’s a problem then you shouldn’t have a business. I wouldn’t recommend them...

A lot of people only leave reviews if they've had a bad experience, but I will definitely do my part in the good or the bad. You have to either really suck or really leave me impressed for me to leave a review; and this place definitely impressed me. My job takes me all over the place. I've been to 30+ states 100+ cities in the past 2 months. I'm always skeptical but I will try a new place. I will say, Charleston, you have a gem. Most places that try to do what Cod has done, which is provide a variety of menu items, only excels in one area of the kitchen. We had wings, catfish, fries, fried rice and didn't leave a crumb. In the past 2 months that was literally the best food we've had so far. Next time we're here in Charleston we know where we will be going. It's bittersweet because we won't be here tomorrow and you have set an expectation so high for us that we don't know if we'll find anything else that will compete. So I gave this place a honest try. When I first walked in I noticed the shark decor so I was digging it, but then I noticed how unclean things looked. I figured, I'd still give it a honest try since I didn't have much time. So I got my food and it wasn't that bad. A little thin and overcooked but it was still ok. But one thing that really killed it for me was the mold in the ice machine. I took the picture and told the woman at the counter, she seemed shocked.... But as I sit there and ate (20 mins at least) no one came to clean the ice machine.... It's probably still moldy. Ice machines need to be cleaned out daily to prevent mold.
