Earlier in the day I had pointed out this place because we wanted tacos, but didn’t want to walk far from our resort. We had some reservations that because of the name they may be pricy. They weren’t to over the top, about average for the area.

Our waitress was very helpful in navigating the menu. She had an excellent memory. She didn’t write anything down, and remembered all our special requests. Throughout the meal she was very attentive.

While figuring out what we wanted to eat we enjoyed looking at the names of things. Very cleaver. We had a good time with the movie references.

They don’t serve tea, which was a bit of a disappointment. My other half settled on water. I myself had Diet Coke. We shared a friend zone with sugar instead of salt. It tasted like a standard margarita. Nothing special, but still tasty.

For an appetizer we shared a Snoop A Loop. Special requested to have meat, queso, lettuce, tomato. It was delicious, and ended up being what I ate for dinner. They were generous with the toppings. We had a few chips left I’ve, and still plenty of toppings to take with us for a snack later.

For dinner we both had a Why So Serious. It’s a pretty standard taco. We subsisted pico for tomato because of my onion allergy. They were also generously portioned. After a couple bites I ended up giving mine to my other half- the hamburger had a bit to much spice for my liking. I’m not sure why I didn’t notice this on the Snoop A Loop.

If they had dessert options I didn’t notice. Full from dinner we didn’t ask either. Maybe on a other visit.

I didn’t noticing anything striking or standout about the décor. We were in a booth. It was sturdy and didn’t rock, which was nice.

They were friendly to our service dog. They made sure where we sat had ample space for my Walker and service dog.

Between the service and food we’d visit again...

This restaurant was very spacious and inviting as we entered with a cool atmosphere.

This location offers a 10% military discount.

I rated this restaurant as a 3 Star for a few reasons, in which I will explain.

First let’s talk about the positives on the visit. As mentioned above, very spacious and inviting atmosphere and we were seated immediately. The movie quote theme is awesome and creates a fun vibe. On the food, both appetizers ordered were fantastic. The Calamari was fried well and the sauces were awesome. The nachos were exactly what someone should expect. I would recommend a little more seasoning on the beef and a less salty chip. The service was very nice and courteous.

Now the areas of improvement:

First off, the restaurant had an awful smell upon arriving and took some time to get used to it. The smell was similar to ammonia. May have lingered in from the HVAC system. As I looked up, the ceiling air vents had a lot of black dust on them. I cannot confirm, but could be mixed with some black mold, as this is common out of HVAC systems with high ceilings.

Next, once we were seated, there was long gaps in being served giving a perception of a longer than normal wait.

The main entrees were bland in flavor and was disappointing. The menu stated the tacos were “Super Duper”, however; the price was $4.99 each and that stood out to me as I have had some great tacos at Mexican restaurants in California that would’ve out performed the tacos at this establishment.

My kids menu taco was entered wrong and we got a cheese quesadilla instead. They did correct it.

Lastly, the hostess did not refill our drinks one time. This is a big disappointment when being served at a sit down restaurant.

Ownership/Management work on these things and season the tacos a little more and you will have a 4-5 star...

Food was tasty | Drinks were great | Service was low to average but then got better… 🌮 🍹 💁🏼‍♀️

Assuming we just came at a weird time, (3pm on a Monday) which we later realized was the end of the day shift that transitioned to the dinner shift so we had multiple bartenders.

Upon arrival, the place felt a little unkept as the bar was sticky and no one greeted us for several minutes. I grabbed our menus myself from the host stand. Once the staff came around they were helpful and brought our food and drinks in a timely manner. However, they became preoccupied with large group of what proved to be fellow employees who had the day off and spent it right next to us at the bar. It wasn’t too disruptive or anything but it was noticeable that the attention was focused mostly on this group.

We also noticed both staff and people in the employee group vaping at the bar. Is this normal? We live in California and aren’t used to this being an acceptable action in a restaurant. 💨

The night staff arrived at 4pm and this bartender was clearly more energized than the rest so that was nice.

My husband and I each used the restrooms and found them both in need of cleaning and supplies as well. 🧻

So… while the Monday day shift was a bit behind on their duties, overall we would still return since the drinks and food were very tasty.

Oh, and the menu was fun and engaging because all the food + drink names were related to movie quotes so we had fun guessing the different affiliations there, too. 😊

HAPPY HOUR...
