Our party of six had a a reservation, and were seated at a booth appropriate for four or five guests. We ordered drinks, the sodas arrived shortly, but we waited over 25 minutes for the two cocktails (they were off the menu, nothing special). The server asked if we had dined previously (two of us had) and discussed the new chef, their meat preparation methods and mentioned that the seafood was sourced locally from Coast, a neighboring restaurant. We inquired about shrimp, but did not order it because our server indicated it was not local and actually outsourced (from Vietnam,) he thought. Appetizers were ordered, including foccaccia for the table, which arrived, but only with three pieces of bread. We ordered an additional foccaccia order, which did not come until after our salads. We had ordered our meals (5 steaks including filet mignon, and rib-eye steaks, 1 Branzino special) Service was terrible, and continued to plummet. The stuffed mushrooms were great, the salads fine, no offers for fresh ground pepper and no salt or pepper on the table. Four entrees arrived and politely, we waited for all of our party to be served, many minutes passed, and the fifth arrived, we waited still. The server indicated a kitchen error, so five diners began to eat, and a manager arrived to tell us the last steak (a different cut of meat than was ordered, we corrected him regarding the cut,) would be along shortly, but it was nearly ten minutes before it arrived at the table. The waiter then turned on the charm, suggesting dessert, drinks etc. which were declined. Our bill arrived, with no discount, and a pre-assigned 20% tip due to our party size of six. The decor is fine, the bar area is lovely, but it's loud in the dining area we were seated in. We are not liking to return with so many great Charleston...
Read moreFirst time eating there and I thought we were in for a bad experience right off the bat. They have one of those self playing pianos and it was belting out what could only be described as random key striking. It was as if an invisible 4 year old was banging on the keyboard. Maybe not quite that bad but close. At the risk of embarrassing my family I explained the issue to our server. It was either that or walk over and unplug it or leave. She said the manager "likes to mix it up sometime." Eventually they changed it for us to something lower volume and more like actual music. All was good. Thanks! Now on to the meal. I started out with a Scotch on the rocks with a twist. It came without the twist so I just walked it up the bartender who was happy to put it in. We didn't have apps but everything we did have was delicious. I had a 14 oz Ribeye medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. Loved it! No complaints with my Caesar salad. There was even a real anchovy on top which I happily gave to my wife. My daughter had the largest "brisket burger" I have ever seen. My son had filet mignon and other daughter had prime rib which they also described as excellent. Wife had no complaints about her lobster bisque or Caesar salad as I recall. Everyone had a cocktail and I also had a glass of wine. There was a very good selection of specialty cocktails. No complaints on the drinks. Prices weren't cheap but were reasonable for a quality restaurant. Like all restaurants seem to do these days they passed the 3% cc fee onto you only they call it a " non-cash adjustment." I'll be back for the ribeye! Thanks for changing...
Read moreWe went for a nigth out on the town just us girls to celebrate a bachelorette party. We made reservations in advance and were seated at the first table when you walk in so tons of people walked by to be seated, and was very distracting from the experience. Our waitress seemed annonyed when we asked her to take a photo of us doing a cheers. The drinks were just average, and none of the specialty drinks were too exciting. The waiteress got annoyed when we asked for a second basket of bread, which seemed silly given there were 6 of us and enough for us to each have a small amount of bread, but we wanted additional. The food was cooked decently but nothing out of this world for the price. We ordered the 8oz filet with mashed potatoes and scallops. The hailbut with fingerling potatoes ahdn cherry tomatoes was overcooked, and very disappointing. The seared Ahi tuna was cooked correctly but came out luke warm, and the marinated cabbage, avocado, sweet corn mix was not taht appealing. The Salmon was a tad overcooked with the sauce being too overpowering for the fish. The Victor's Surf and Turf with the 12oz NY strip, jumbo shirm, and seasoned steak fries was the best of all the dishes. We expected that they might do something complementary for desert or a drink due to the bachelorette party but nothing was even mentioned. If we were back in town this would not be a place I...
