I LOVE OLD WHALING COMPANY.

It’s taken me far too long to write this review, but let me just say - these are, hands down, the best body products I’ve ever purchased. I have pretty sensitive skin, and other lotions always makes me itch when I put them on. I don’t have that issue with OWC.

My main OWC addiction is their body butter. I love how creamy it is, and my skin is super quenched (not greasy) after using it. I put them on immediately after getting out of the shower, and they just soak right into my skin. Not to mention, the butters smell like they were sent straight from heaven. Perfect scents, not overly perfumey. My favorites are Seaberry, Magnolia, Lavender, and Coastal Calm. While those are my favorites, there haven’t been any of the scents that I have disliked. They’re all pretty amazing.

And let’s talk customer service. Holy guacamole, is this customer service incredible! I had ordered a set of 5 body butters, and was planning to give two as a gift. When I received my order, the one scent I was hoping for wasn’t there, and they had sent a different one. It smelled amazing, so I didn’t mind, but I was worried they had discontinued my favorite scent. I just sent an email inquiring about that. I didn’t ask for refunds, exchange, nothing. OWC sent an email apologizing about sending me the wrong scent , and then responded by sending me TWO of my favorite body butters, along with a whole box of other amazing goodies. They sent along a bath bomb - and all I can say is BUY THE BATH BOMBS. Heaven.

I always know that I have found a company I’ll use forever, based on their customer service. I was so blown away with, not only how prompt OWC was, but also how incredibly kind and generous they were. They absolutely went above and beyond what they had to, and it makes me so much more inclined to continue buying their products! Customer for life!

I have recommended this wonderful small business to all of my friends and family, and anyone who is looking for good bath/body products... and I’m going to do the same for whoever is reading these reviews - RUN, don’t walk. You will...

SUPERB Customer Service and FANTASTIC products! I’m a huge fan of their Body Butter collection of which a handful have become my repeat favorites ( Sea la Vie, Seaberry, Spearmint & Eucalyptus, Coastal Calm)!! Such amazing scents and wonderfully moisturizing! But, it’s also the genuine personal touch they bring to every purchase that is especially meaningful—and truly a unique and welcome feature that sets them apart from other companies. Each package comes with a nice note on who assembled your purchase and sent it AND a Thank You message. Wow!

And, just when I thought they couldn’t be any nicer, they outdid themselves in spectacular fashion when I sought assistance on expediting delivery of a special Lavender gift set for my sister’s birthday this month. I initially used the website (as I usually do for my orders) but ran into an issue regarding delivery dates for the shipping options. So I reached out to customer service via their email address hoping I might hear back but not particularly optimistic since it was a Friday. Well, I received a lovely and helpful reply almost immediately from Rebekah clarifying the shipping dates and assuring me that she and their team would make sure that once they had the Order number, the gift box would be prepared first thing Monday and given the expedited delivery I opted for. And it would be there in time for my sister’s birthday later that week. Rebekah and I exchanged a few subsequent notes as she kept me updated on the processing of my order. Really, it was above & beyond customer engagement!

I wish I could give them waaay more than the 5-Stars allotted for this review! Rebekah and her colleagues are OUTSTANDING and I couldn’t be more appreciative for their outreach and yeoman efforts. I visited Charleston from the DC area and found the Old Whaling Company while walking through the old city market. I fell in love with how clean the scents were and purchased a bath bomb. I'm usually skeptical of bath bombs that aren't LUSH because most of them make the water hard and have barely any scent. Also - they're usually a pain to open. However, Old Whaling Company surprised me with how soft the bath bombs made the water, and how lovely the scent was.

Because of this, I now buy my bath bombs from this company and have already made two online orders since coming home two weeks ago. I want to make sure that I have a stock of bath bombs for when I need them. My favorite scents so far are oceanswept and magnolia.

I've also purchased the magnolia body butter and handmade soap. Both products are also amazing, and will enhance my self care routine.

These products feel clean.

The one thing I wonder about is whether or not there is animal testing involved... it would be nice to see that noted on the website.
