Update: I went for their half off tacos special on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I was expecting the tacos to be $2 a piece. I ordered 4 and asked if they came with complimentary chips and salsa. The cashier said “yes“. I was expecting to pay $8 and was instead charged $16. These tacos were so small I couldn’t believe it. The cashier instead was charging me the full price of the tacos, which were $3.99. I asked what about the chips and salsa, the cashier charged me $2.50 for that in addition to $2.50 for a cup of Horchata. My grand total came to $21.41 for the food.
Unbelievable. I walked out of there ASAP I went to Taco Bell’s. That is a rip off if I ever saw one and price gouging to the max. The environment is cool the staff is cool, but there is no way I will ever return to this place of business again. Go to Maria’s restaurant at the intersection of Tyvola and...
Read moreFriends recommended this place, but I seriously wonder if they were either starving or high because the food was not great. We did a large dinner party. My mom and I ordered the fajita mix, but somehow we ended up with two different plates. Hers was full of meat, chicken, and large shrimp, while I got a mountain of bell peppers and onions, 5 thin strips of steak, 4 pieces of chicken, and 8 popcorn shrimp that weren't even deveined. Not to mention, everything was drenched in oil. Yes, fajitas are oily, but when you can pour the oil in a cup, it's not good. When I raised the issue, they basically said, "it is what it is." Yeah, not a great experience for the price. Others at the table had problems with their dishes but kept quiet except for my uncle. He did spoke up about getting a huge bowl of mondongo soup with only two small pieces of mondongo. Modongo is cheap, why do that. The waitress just shrugged. Overall, not a good experience. We won't be returning and can't recommend this place to family and friends. As a latin person, I'm embarrass. I promise Charlotte has better Mexican restaurants. This is not one of them.
Read moreReturned a second time. Tacos say $1.99 each Monday and Tuesday on table advertisements, it's not true, they are $3.99 each. It's probably not intentional, but false advertising. In addition, noticed a 3.5% fee to pay with card. Not going back. Prior visit = We are impressed with this place. In house tortillas are delicious and the restaurant looks very clean....
