I wanted to write a review since I have entered Chez Marie in Sharon Corners. I would like to thank Mrs. Maria Siragusa and her husband, Mr. Siragusa so much for their hospitality and generosity when visiting this past Wednesday.
Blake and I had a wonderful time and getting to meet Mrs. Siragusa as well as receiving the service from the lovely staff added extra sweetness to our sugar overload that day.
To Mrs. Siragusa, thank you for being so kind and patient w/ explaining the desserts as well as encouraging me to step out my comfort zone and try the blue cheese macaron. And yes, you win. A savory confection that is worth a try. But I have to say the mango and raspberry rose are my favorite. The best raspberry macaron I have tried to date. Ladurée & Pierre Hermé Paris in France did not come close to that raspberry rose.
Your passion and love are sure reflected in your desserts and can also be seen in your staff. Its really that contagious. The good kind of course. I would like to highlight the gentleman that made our coffees. His customer service was just amazing and went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of while we dined and was just overall a sincere, kind gem.
Having a background in the service/restaurant industry, specifically in full scale restaurants, I have never received the love, respect, and kindness in a facility let alone in an owner or manager.
In a world that is currently being clouded with negativity and uncertainty, you are such a light and positivity and a great asset to have in SouthPark. I strive now more than ever to acknowledge individuals that deserve to be praised. With that being said, I wish you every little piece of success and happiness that comes your way. It is so much more than the sourdough sandwiches, lattes, croissant, macarons, lemon basil tart w/ toast meringue, & the mousse entremet. (Yes, it was devoured between Blake and I only, and yes, we ate ALL of it with no regrets)
Thank you again for the experience. Will visit again real...
Read moreThis place has terrible customer service. Beware if you are doing the afternoon tea that they will not accommodate dietary restrictions nor tell you what you will be getting. A member of our party has a severe nut allergy and informed the staff before she paid and was assured they would accommodate her. However, all food arrived together with many items with nuts. Nut free items were touching any items she could possibly eat. She requested to pay only for her tea since she could no longer have the food and was told no. The manager was very combative to talk to and it took a significant amount of effort to be able to receive a refund (the manager told us it was our fault for not mentioning allergies and that any allergies we had were our responsibility—however the staff was told about allergies beforehand and still charged and ignored information that was provided beforehand) I would not recommend going here—the service is terrible and the food is below average for what you are paying for. There are much better cafes to spend your time and money in Charlotte with much...
Read moreThis is a very cute place and the pastries are really beautiful. I think the aesthetics and where it’s located is why it could be popular. The taste is just not there, in my opinion. Also, luxury doesn’t excuse the amount of waste that’s going on here. They were packing each of these items in the picture in a separate plastic container or baggy. Each item is also served on a hard plastic piece (that if I could’ve asked for without I would have). I asked for items to just be placed in one box. They still gave me two boxes and a bag with the macrons in it. They were afraid they’d move around and get ruined and that the box wouldn’t close over the lavender cake. Get boxes that are taller since you make items this tall and each of these hard plastic pieces can have icing placed on the bottom to keep them in place. It was done on two items in the box and not on another that was placed in a separate box. Be more concerned with what you’re putting out into the environment. It’s at an...
