An experience in good customer service and product selection as always, but slightly disappointing when it came to some of the staff and the cafe menu. The men's department was staffed well with the number of employees, however not all of them were working, and the ones who were, had already been swarmed and overwhelmed. One young man, had been helping a couple and had to be hunted down, he still made a moment to speak to me, although he was busy. Another tall older fellow stood at the ready, helping no one, doing nothing but scanning the crowd with his eyes, who happened to artfully dodge me at each of the 4 attempts I made to ask for help. Finally, a woman, Sara Forgash, acknowledged us, finished with her customer, and came to check on us. We expressed our concerns, including that we drove over an hour and a half to be there, and she assisted us with all of our available options. She was abreast of all of the same day alterations options needed, got the tailor on board, and got us everything we required by closing time. She was pleasant and polite and courteous. I was also pleased to find that she was bilingual. She recognized our double points day was about to expire, added it, and suggested the gift checks available for use on the account. She gave us the personal service that we have come to expect, along with her card. The only thing she couldn't do for us was the shoe selection. She had handed us over to a nice gentleman in the shoe department, however, we weren't sure that we liked the selection.
We came back and after shopping outside of Nordstrom and spoke with a different shoe associate, Evan. Evan was in a hurry and had to be coaxed to assist us with anything. He seemed truly disinterested in us and instead of helping my son with his dress shoes, he used the bench like a seat to make himself comfortable and stared at him comfortably while he tried on 4 pairs. We expressed that we just moved from Fort Bragg down to Columbia and were not sure if we would have time to find his regular pair, therefore, we weren't keen on spending a great deal on this extra pair. He showed us only discontinued styles and made somewhat masked, underhanded jabs at our ability to pay. Evan implied that the style we asked for was, "...available, but that shoe is more like $400.00, you know..." and we were disappointed and disgusted by his apparent inability to separate professionalism and his personal intolerances. We are not strangers to being either invisible or slighted, however there should be no place for it Nordstrom, especially after we had just spent over $1,000.00 in Men's clothing an hour beforehand. We retreated to the cafe, had some dinner and dessert, and reluctantly returned to get the shoes, much to his obvious surprise.
The cafe was a great respite to get back our focus, the waitress, Dewi, was a sweetheart and made good suggestions, except for the coconut cake, which was abysmal. I've always maintained a healthy relationship with Nordstrom ever since I could remember.
My grandmother, God rest her soul, loved the Nordstrom experience. She always took me me once a week to shop and to the cafe. They always greeted us with warmth and respect and most importantly, by name. They knew what we liked, remembered which table we preferred, and our usual order. I loved Nordstrom and took my daughter to get her first store card with you when she was eighteen. Overall, the experience was good, although it could have been phenomenal. Disappointed in you Nordstrom, you used to be the best and now...
Read morelove this store. I actually ended up not being able to buy anything from this store because they didn't have my size in the shoes I wanted but on our way out my 2 year old and 5 year old wanted balloons they saw in the children's shoes section. So I started looking for some shoes for my son since he needed shoes anyways and to get the Balloon all in one. Jacob the children shoes sale associate was so helpful and I wanted to make sure me was recognized for his service. My son has an arteriovenous Malformation on his left foot and had multiple procedures within the year. His foot is badly scared and deformed now due to complications from his first procedure. He's been very bummed because he hasn't been able to fit in any shoe on that foot so unable to play sports etc. He wears a shoe on his right foot and a boot on his left foot. We've been looking for over a year for shoes to put him in both feet but unable to find any. When Jacob found out about this he gave me so much information about where to look so maybe he could get a pair of shoes on instead wearing a "boot". We ended up not finding anything from him in the store but took his advice and finally found something on the website he recommended. Nordstrom does sale these shoes just was not in the store. He just received the shoes yesterday and was able to finally wear two shoes on his feet. I wish Jacob could have seen the glow and smile on my baby face. He truly made a difference in my son's life and my family's life for just caring and listening. He did not have to talk to me and spend so much time on us because clearly there was nothing that we could buy in the store since nothing fit him.. And the store was busy with customers he could have had. But instead Jacob empathized with my son and took the time in making both my kids day by giving us balloons and just talking to us. He had a lot of information on different shoe sites for kids with needing special shoes. He said he was a teacher also, and I can tell he really cares about kids. I wish he was my son's teacher. I am so grateful for his time and hope he realizes how much it has impacted our family. I hope Nordstrom realizes the amazing...
Read moreI feel that employees who work there always staring at us since we were speaking our native language within us and behaved in such a way as if we don't have the worth to visit this store. I regret so much to have visited this store with my mother who came from India to be with us for sometime.
I have purchased Sisley face wash a month ago online and I saw they are available in Nordstrom website.
Since the wash suited me very well I though of directly visit the store and buy some more Sisley products.
I was informed that store doesn't carry Sisley products and then before leaving the store I was looking at the designer handbags.
I was in the Baby Boden section looking for brown suspenders but they don't carry it.
Around this time they were very conscious of our presence and did not treat us well. There is absolutely no effort or interest from their side to retain the customer or show interest in sales etc etc.
No effort in real sense to make the customer return to the store.
Just because we are simple dressed and no make up people doesn't mean someone can hold prejudice against us.
Judging people on any grounds is not correct and doesn't do any good to the society.
Especially when I am a customer who can afford Sisley products I don't have to to prove anything to anyone
I have done lot of Baby Boden purchases and designer shoes for my child. Now I feel I should not have purchased so much from this store for the experience.
I have asked my mom to come to the store so that I can share all my memories of buying Baby Boden , Tucker and Tate etc when my kid was a baby.
But at the end it only left my...
