Everyone,
I just had a horrible experience trying to order coffee from Duncan at the Charlotte, NC Airport /E-28 gateâŚ
I walked up to the Cashier and was not greeted with nothing but silence. Then, I conveyed the type of drink that I wanted and the Cashier, asked me with an attitude âput ur card in and answer the questionâ.
I stood there for almost 5 min and there was no question on the screen so I stated that there was nothing displayed, âCashier response, well that means the system is down thenâ. I respond back that she didnât have to have an attitude with me, and her and the other colleague laughed. I blew it off by mentally telling myself that you canât change rude people.
There was an African American couple that walked up behind me and I kindly informed them that I was only sharing that the cashier said their system was down. The Cashier interjects with an attitude stating that I never said that, I responded that she did, and I was only trying to help the lady out behind me by informing them of a possible delay. Clearly this was the Cashierâs job but she kept having her head down and didnât care to engage or greet me or the person behind me initially.
Keep in mind, the entire time, the Cashier kept talking over me and interjecting while I was only trying to be a good person by letting the person behind know about their system delay. After, the cashier stated, â that the system was never down, and to leave while asking the Couple behind me to come on up.
At that point, I was so irritated from the mistreatment and bias behavior given towards me that I asked to speak with a manager. Yes, at this point I was started to show frustration with my tone because I felt so mistreated. The cashier responds, hahaha, âmanagerâ? Whatâs that?
Then three other African American women come out, one claiming to be a manager, however, not even allowing me to speak. Kept defending her employee, I tried to even get a few words out which was impossible⌠I explained that the cashier was rude to me and she kept asking well how. So every word after conveyed after that was immediately shutdown and dismissed from this so call manager.
The manager decided to dismiss me as well and stated âwell you can leave, since I tried to help youâ. Leaving me out of luck without any coffee or empathy or remorse for how I was just treated.
My best friend is African American, however, I felt that this Cashier who is African American and the rest of the crew discriminated against me. The couple behind me was African American, and the cashier stated the system was down and made me wait. Not until I so kindly tried to inform the African American crew behind me that the system was down that the Cashier got an attitude and said no itâs not and I never said that. I was mind-blowed when I heard that come out of the Cashierâs mouth, after she just told me their system was down and thatâs why I didnât see the question pop up, and of course with an attitude. I might look Caucasian but thatâs why you should never judge a book by its cover. My nationality is far from white and again my best friend is African American.
For clarification, the Cashier tells the couple behind me that their system is not down and I question her as to why she continues to have an attitude with me, She basically said ânext and I am not going to help youâ.
This Cashier is clearly bias and deceptive and chooses who she is going to bully⌠The staff and management team of this location should be investigated and mandated to have daily customer mystery shops for the next three months to discover their true character and how they are really treating man-kindâŚ.

They made my drink and it was not what I ordered. Then the woman asked if I was tired because I look tired.
