✨ From Skeptic to Superfan: Gotcha Matcha Changed Everything I’ll be honest—I tried matcha once and swore it wasn’t for me. But walking into Gotcha Matcha & Espresso felt different. The ladies (Jessica and Christin) behind the counter greeted us with such kindness and care, it instantly felt like more than just a coffee stop—it felt like a place that sees you.

Their service was exceptional, and their drinks? Life-changing. I’m now completely hooked. I only want matcha from this place. If you’re even slightly curious about matcha, this is the spot to try it. They’ll win you over.

My personal favorites: the Strawberry Matchiato and Peach Matchiato—both are vibrant, smooth, and perfectly balanced. My mom tried the Pandan Caramel Macchiato and the Pandan Matcha, and she’s already planning her next visit.

Also, the owner slid in there so wonderfully (I did a double take and said that’s the guy from the magazine 😂) and he was such a vibe! It made me love the place...

I’ve been a fan of matcha since I was younger and when I heard there was another matcha (and vegan) cafe that was opening in Charlotte I was really excited to try it out. Staff and service was nice and they seem like lovely people. The interior was very chic and reminded me a hotel lobby or bar area.

Now onto the drink. I got the iced gotcha matcha latte which is just a regular matcha latte. All their drinks automatically come with oat milk but they have other alternatives like soy, macadamia, coconut, etc. Being completely honest, the matcha flavor was not very present, it mostly tasted like oat milk with a very small splash of matcha. Color wise, it was a very faint green color and when I received my drink, I could already tell it wasn’t going to be as strong as other matcha lattes that I’ve had. I’ve been going to Matcha Maiko Cafe and they have a more distinct matcha flavor.

Personally I think this place is great for those who are new to matcha and want to try a caffeine alternative other than coffee. It wasn’t my cup of tea but...
