I joined this gym a few months ago, very recently. I love the location how close it is to everything. The gym is clean, staff is friendly and often goes of their way to help you, and the equipment is so diverse. I also really love the locker room, especially. It's so nice and clean like everything else. I even see the staff still cleaning and wiping down the machines and bathrooms while I'm there so always feel very good about working out here. It's not open 24/7 just yet but it is getting there just like they said. (More like 24/3 now hee hee) so I am looking forward to that. Also I won't fault them for it of course but I would reeeeeeeaaaaaally like to see a Jacob's ladder at one of their locations in Charlotte, particularly this one since I go here mostly. I'm not sure how the fees for the facility improvement are used but if by chance you let the members vote on what should be added I'm voting for a Jacob's Ladder!! ^_^ Pretty cool and easy going gym too, despite how many branches are portrayed on youtube and such. Of course I can sympathize with people having issues with parking but I've never been affected by that since wouldn't even stress myself with driving anywhere near uptown unless I needed to. Too much constant construction and way too crazy on the streets especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Great gym if you ask me though even more so if you have a monthly parking space for a good price or live in...
Read moreMy husband and I are visiting Charlotte for a work trip and during a break we decided to stop by this Planet Fitness location to get a quick workout in. We followed the directions and saw the sign but once we arrived we got a little confused about how to actually enter the gym.
I called the number listed not really expecting anyone to answer right away but to my surprise Chris picked up immediately. He was incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. He guided us step by step on how to find the entrance all the way down to the basement level and even stayed on the line until we were in the lobby.
The gym itself was clean, well laid out and had that classic Planet Fitness vibe we know and love. But what really stood out was Chris’s attitude ! His friendliness made our experience at a different location feel just as comfortable as home. It’s a small thing but when you’re traveling and walking into a new place that kind of positive energy makes all the difference.
Big shoutout to Chris 🎉 thank you for...
Read morePlanet fitness is a low cost gym that has all the essentials. This location is a decent size with plenty of equipment. The staff are friendly and people are good at keeping the gym clean.
The cons are parking. The pros are parking. If you live or work in the area, this is perfect because it's way more equipment than you have at your place. And because parking is so bad there's not going to be large crowds. So, you can get your work out in and let others get their work out in, without bumping into each other.
The reason I gave it four stars is because it's in the basement with no natural light, so it's darker and can drag your energy.
Pro Tip: The gym is located in the building attached to the US Bank. Go through the revolving doors at 201 S. Tryon. Walk to the security desk and take the left to the elevators to 1st floor (basement). The building is open to the public during extended business hours. After extended business hours, you'll need a special app to access; so this has to be...
