We arrived late on Christmas. Approximately midnight. When we got checked we started getting settled in and noticed the room was not clean. There was trash on the floor and the bathrooms were dirty. In fact there was an empty Mountain Dew bottle in the shower. The room was not cleaned. We called the front desk and they offered to move us to a different room, but at that late hour we decided to stay, since our children were already going to sleep. They said they would take care of it the next morning. We also talked with front desk about breakfast and they said they would keep it open until 10 if people were there eating. When we woke up after traveling from Idaho and went to breakfast at 9, it was already getting shut down. In fact at 9:20, the doors to where the food was were closed. It felt very much like we were imposing on the staff to get some breakfast. Unprofessional is not a strong enough word to describe the way were treated. In reality it felt that way at breakfast all week long even when we arrived at breakfast much earlier. Very disappointed in the breakfast operation. The food was okay, but often they ran out of items. That day we were mostly in the room and the housekeeper came and we asked if they could come back a little later. They told us sure. We left the room at 2 PM and went to the front desk and spoke with the staff that we would be gone for several hours. They assured us they would get a " deep" clean right away. We came back about 3 hours later and they had not cleaned. At this point I was ready to ask for a refund and went to the front desk. They were apologizing profusely and offered to change us rooms. We went through that hassle and got a different room. That room was only slightly better than the first room. Not impressed I started looking for other options. There were not any other rooms that met our needs that were available so we stayed. We cleaned the room up and throughout the rest of the week the cleaning was subpar. Overall, we had a terrible experience as far as the hotel was concerned and that was made clear to management multiple times. I fully anticipated some type of reasonable compensation, but instead we got some ice cream from the front desk. Will obviously not go back to this hotel and look to other brands going forward. Suoer disappointed. This doesn't cover all that we were upset about, but I am not that convinced any of...
Read moreWe just got back from a weekend trip to Charlotte, NC and stayed overnight at this location.
This seems like a relatively new location. The rooms are very nice, with great kitchen setups and all the accessories to enjoy an extended stay. The beds and bathroom were very nice.
The hot breakfast has a nice selection of foods: cereals, bagels, toast, waffles, scrambled eggs, pork and turkey sausage.
So, why then only a 3 Star rating?
Well, this location is situated overlooking the EpiCenter. Now depending on your experience and what you are looking for this could be great or could be not so much. For those that like to party and go to clubs and be within easy walking of bars and restaurants this is the PERFECT place for you.
However, for those that enjoy sightseeing then want to come back to a quiet and relaxing evening, this is NOT the location for you. This is the camp we fall into. Due to the bars and nightclubs right below the rooms you are kept awake with a constant loud and deep base thumping.
When I called the front desk to ask about the music, it was stated that i should have been informed that they have a quiet side and a loud side. This was not mentioned to me at checkin. I cannot say how quiet those rooms are but maybe they are better.
If you are looking for a quiet evening then would recommend finding something not so close to...
Read moreMy experience here was less than to be desired. We unfortunately had a later than expected check in at 10:03 pm. When we pulled up, the only entrance was beside the parking garage (no grand entrance). Doors were locked and when someone finally came to door, they explained I would have to go up to FIFTH floor to check in. My girlfriend and I had a carful of luggage & no valet. After I got back we had to split up to take the cart upstairs & park down in garage. The garage was very confusing with no signage how to get back to hotel. After finding stairs to lead up to elevator, it took me to Aloft. After going back down elevator & changing another unmarked floor a Valet for ALOFT instructed me to go all the way across the garage to the street & walk around the building to the original entrance. Once this was all done, it was 10:25. We tried to go to rooftop bar for a few minutes just to get a view of city & we were "chaperoned" onto a balcony for 3 minutes (while others were relaxing on other side of the bar, not sure why they got preferential treatment), even after we explained our series of events, they ushered us out in a hurry. It was apparent that no one from the hotel cared about our poor experience at their establishment. Im giving 2 stars for the aesthetics if the building.
We will NOT...
