Hawthorne Pizza is an absolute gem in the world of pizza joints, and my recent visit left me craving more. From start to finish, this experience was nothing less than perfect. Fresh Ingredients: ★★★★★ Hawthorne Pizza takes its commitment to quality seriously. The freshness of the ingredients used in their pizzas is evident in every bite. The crisp vegetables, succulent meats, and perfectly seasoned sauces came together harmoniously to create a pizza that was truly remarkable. Lots of Toppings: ★★★★★ Toppings galore! If you're a fan of generous portions of toppings on your pizza, Hawthorne Pizza won't disappoint. My pizza was practically a mountain of deliciousness, offering a tantalizing variety that satisfied both my eyes and my taste buds. Full of Flavor: ★★★★★ Flavor, flavor, flavor! The pizza here is not just a meal; it's a culinary adventure. The blend of spices and the way the flavors melded together was a testament to their dedication to crafting a memorable pizza. Each bite was a burst of savory delight. Mouthwatering: ★★★★★ My mouth was watering from the very first scent of pizza wafting through the air, and it didn't stop until long after I'd left Hawthorne Pizza. The sheer deliciousness of their creations is enough to make anyone's taste buds dance with joy. Chill, Laid Back Atmosphere: ★★★★★ The atmosphere at Hawthorne Pizza is the epitome of relaxed. It's the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy your meal, and have great conversations with friends or family. Whether you're dining in or ordering takeout, the stress of the day melts away in this cozy setting. Incredible Salad: ★★★★★ While the pizza is the star of the show, don't overlook their incredible salad. Fresh greens, a variety of toppings, and a choice of dressings make for a refreshing and satisfying side dish. It's the perfect complement to their hearty pizzas. Stuffed Calzone: ★★★★★ If you're in the mood for something different, don't hesitate to try their stuffed calzone. It's a flavor-packed, handheld delight. The combination of cheeses, meats, and veggies wrapped in a warm, fluffy crust is a true comfort food experience. ★★★★★ for the staff! Attentive, aware, helpful, friendly, kind.

The waitress gave us a card to scan for the menu. I couldn't download a scan app. She didn't give us a paper menu. So we ordered a 18 in pizza with toppings, a diet Coke and a water and 3 sides of Ranch. The pizza was made wrong to start with. I told them to bring the pizza on because we were hungry. No they had to fix it. The crust then was too done, burnt and too hard. But as I said we were hungry and didn't want to complain. Then I got the check...$41 and didn't include tip. I left a small tip because after that I thought I had spent enough for a pizza and soda. Before I left I told the waitress that I wanted to see the menu. She said well this is an old menu. Beware of hidden charges for food. I feel ripped and it's my own fault. Just want to warn others. Pictures of the food that we brought home and receipt. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE. I HAVE HAD BETTER PIZZA.

Ordered online the Elizabeth Special full size(I think 18"?), and was able to pick it up in about 35 min. I can't truly speak to whether it is "Authentically New York", but the crust was thinner, and the slices were big enough to fold before gobbling them down, so I was sold. The pizza itself was pretty good. The toppings were flavorful, the crust was just the right amount of chewy and the cheese was, well, it was cheese. The first few bites seemed a bit salty, but after that my tongue either got used to it or it all evened out(and I didn't wake up the next day completely parched, so probably I just hot a salty spot). Would have rated 5 stars, but kinda expensive; total came to $28...which was decidedly un New Yorkish, where slices can be only a few dollars. So try it you like, but make sure you skip lunch so you can afford a full pie.

Two Star Review: I did not enjoy the food from Hawethorne's 7th Street very much. It smelled delicious (super garlicky) but everything we ate was pretty bland, and the pizza was kind of dreadful: the toppings were fine - not great - but the crust was almost as bad as a frozen pizza. New York style (floppy and gooey with cheese) this pizza was not. We also got the baked ziti and the angel hair with meatballs both of which were pretty over priced I thought. I feel like a good baked ziti should be moistened with sauce and bound with cheese to stick together in a hearty package, but this was more like ziti noodles tossed in a pan with sauce and cheese then plated straight away. I guess something was too watery in the recipe because it was a pretty sloppy mess when it got to our home. The angel hair with meatballs were fine - not amazing but serviceable - but it costs $16 which is a little too much for pasta, sauce, and two meatballs. Maybe $12 is more appropriate, but even then... I don't think we'll go back to Hawthorne's unless it's someone else's idea and they really want it.

Edit : gave Hawthorne's a second chance as it is pretty close to our home and many people seem to enjoy it quite a lot. Dining in this time the meal was a bit better than take out. The meatballs Parmesan was a little boring in its execution but the meatballs themselves were okay (I ate them all, so that's something). The garlic knots were quite good: drowned in garlic butter and kind of crunchy at spots and soft in the middle. We were really happy we ordered them. We also shared the penne ala vodka which was okay. It had A LOT of cream in it which made it pretty gloopy, but it was tasty enough. We added chicken to the pasta and wished we hadn't, not because there was anything wrong with the chicken but because the pasta just didn't need it. It was mediocre but it hit the spot and was tasty enough. Several pizzas were served around us and they looked much better than what I received in my takeout; I'm wondering if the large (18") pizzas which we saw being served around us are just better than their small (9") pizzas which I ordered for takeout. Regardless, I've given Hawthorne's a star back (up to 3 stars) since I think we'll go in again and get the garlic knots and pasta and maybe even a large pizza one day to see if it's better...

I am visiting my Sister and tried this restaurant before leaving NC. I live in Downtown San Diego in an area called Little Italy (You bet I know my Italian food). I ordered Calamari, Salad, Chicken Wings and Meat Lover Pasta. Unfortunately I didn’t get my pasta (I should mention I ordered through DoorDash), which is a let down cause my sister is moving to Ohio and I don’t think I’m ever coming back to North Carolina. So I decided to order it again, but this time I added the Chicken Parmigiana Pasta since that’s what DoorDash is suggesting. Since it’s getting late and I don’t want to not eat for my last night in Charlotte, I called and told them I’m missing an item on my first attempt. Manager was nice enough to apologize and tried to offer paying for my meal but since I ordered through DoorDash, he can’t really do it. Instead I received an extra entree which was very nice of him. I’m giving the place 5 star for their customers service. As per the pasta, love that it’s all cooked al dente. The meat lover is on point and something that I can compare to the pasta in our place. The Hawthorns Penne is in need of a little more seasoning and the Chicken Parmigiana was okay. Overall it’s a good restaurant and service is outstanding. Shout out to the Manager working tonight 09/26/2021, sorry I forgot your name, but thank you again for your help! Best of...
