I’m so glad Lottie’s opened in Charlotte. We needed this.
They are a great addition to Uptown and the rebranded EpiCenter which is now known as The Queen City Quarter. As one of their anchor tenants, they’re in a prime and accessible location. You can dine inside or at one of the few tables on the patio.
The food here is delicious. It’s prepared by a local chef, Maria Martinez, who is a young phenomenon. The owner Ashley is amazing and the two of them work together to bring some of the most balanced, nutritious, and comforting dishes to life.
Service here is also exceptional. One of my favorite things to do when in I’m here is to chat with staff. They are pleasant it feels like you’ve stopped in your neighborhood corner cafe.
It honestly gives my Lowcountry vibes with the linen, open and bright vibes.
Sometimes, there are out of my favorite things, but I don’t hold it against them. They’re busy and that’s a good thing. I love to see small businesses flourishing and I hope to support them during their tenure Uptown — and maybe you will too!
Fave items: Hugo’s Hash, Beattie’s Bagel, George’s Sammie, the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, and the Shrimp & Grits when they have them! Don’t sleep on the Airplane Latte or their chai tea latte options....
Read moreI visited this coffee shop today after seeing so many great reviews and social media buzz, and I had pretty high expectations. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte, hoping for a strawberry puree, but instead, it was made with strawberry syrup, and the almond milk overpowered the matcha flavor. It just wasn’t the combination I was hoping for.
I also tried the Hugo’s hash brown bowl. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up with my egg preference. I prefer my eggs fried over hard, and even though I went back to let them know, I still ended up with a runny egg, which I couldn’t enjoy.
The overall service felt a bit off, too. The staff member who helped me seemed low-energy and not very enthusiastic about guiding a new customer. It was a bit uncomfortable not getting any recommendations or much interaction.
Overall, I was hoping for a better experience, especially given the hype. Hopefully, it was...
Read moreI visited Lottie’s yesterday (Sat morning) on a whim for a solo breakfast date. Lottie’s ended up feeding more than just my belly. It provided the calm I needed after a hectic week. I’ll just get the obvious out of the way… how delicious the food is. You can tell my Hugo’s Hash was handcrafted with love and the flavors all melted together. My plate didn’t stand a chance. As a huge coffee fan, I was pleasantly surprised how well balanced my Airplane Latte was, especially since I ordered it with light milk. It also, did not stand a chance. Even more notable than their amazing food, was the customer service I received. There was a light and just a positive spirit inside of the cafe. It also shined through the employees who not only care about your order, but care about you as a person. My first experience at Lottie’s was truly a special one and I would recommend them a million...
