Sharing this with regards to the penthouse suite ONLY. We wanted to leave this review on VRBO, where it’s listed, but conveniently, our review was rejected.
The booking process was very easy and correspondence with Steve was professional and responsive. The issues with the stay started at check in. We arrived for check in at 5:45pm and was told the room was not available and needed “touch-ups to make our stay special”. We waited at the lobby for close to an hour. Prior to our arrival, we had scheduled for balloons to be delivered to the suite and the vendor was allowed access first. While waiting at the lobby, we learned from the vendor the suite was a complete mess and not at all ready - which explained why we were not able to check in. We decided to let this go even though it was HOURS after check-in time of 3pm. The first night of our stay, one bed was missing duvet covers, the second bed had a pillow case that smelled like it had not been washed. The next morning, these issues were addressed to the front desk and we were told someone would come in to change out the sheets and provide duvet cover. We also asked that the bags of trash that we placed outside the suite be removed. When we returned to the suite the second night, none of these issues were addressed. I was directed to speak to a “manager” who not only as unapologetic, but told me that he personally changed the sheets himself the day of our check in since they were running behind in getting the room ready, so the issues I raised were not possible. Nonetheless, he said he will send someone up with new sheets and to remove garbage - that never happened. Everything I addressed remained unresolved when we checked out. Lastly, the suite was supposed to come with parking voucher for one vehicle. The first time we exited the garage with the provided voucher, the parking fees came out to $105. I’m extremely disappointed in how this stay turned out. The property itself is beautiful but the service was extremely lacking, especially when issues were addressed and automatically dismissed without any...
Read morePros: *rooftop views on 3 sides of the city (thank you Brandi for the grand tour!!) *interesting seasonal drink menu *Cool artwork and lighting Different seating areas great for year round *Monday night- no reservations needed Cons: *Vibe of the place is being a little self important and “on trend” but missing the details that could make the experience a 5 star -No physical menus (which would be fine except -Instead they have one TV screen, showing a QR code that you have to literally get up from your seat, depending where you’re sitting to walk over to pull a menu up. Not the end of the world, but easily remedied with a small card on the table that could be artfully set into a piece of marble or glass *My server was really nice, but could not really speak to the entire seasonal drink menu (maybe 12 items in all) I understand that people can’t eat certain things or don’t like certain things, but when you are charging $17 plus for a cocktail in Charlotte, it probably makes sense to make sure your servers are Uber trained on how to articulate what the drink is - tasting notes etc *No small snacks - I would’ve paid eight dollars for a bowl of Chex mix or assorted nuts… They didn’t have anything but appetizers like brussels sprouts which I didn’t really think went well with cocktails and I didn’t want to eat a bread platter at 9:30 at night. Which is when the kitchen closes. You don’t need a kitchen for non perishable snacks. Oh and they are profitable *20% service charge was automatically added to my check which was just for me. On the QR code menu, it explicitly states that 20% is added to parties of five or more. Not a single party. Again, not the end of the world, but I probably would’ve tipped my server higher but I was a little put off by it
So is this place worth it to go?… Absolutely. Go have a great time and enjoy the view and the friends you are with and hopefully a bonus will be a few good drinks and...
Read moreMade reservations for 3 people, days in advance. Even received a text the day of to confirm we will be there. We show up and the lobby is flooded with waiting guests. I figured it wouldn’t be an issue for us considering we had reservations ( I assumed they might be walk ins), well no it turns out everybody waiting had reservations (over heard bickering about waiting hours past their reservation time). The person checking in stated “just to let you know there’s a wait”. We were confused, but he checked us in & allowed us to go to the 5th floor bar to get a drink before our reservation time, which was supposed to be in 30 mins , the bar was also packed with individuals, and turns out most were also people who were waiting past their reservation time to be seated. Anyways we gave it some time about 30 mins AFTER our set reservation time (makes 1 hour from our arrival) I reach out to Nuvole & they say “sorry for the delay it’s a full house........” I kindly ask them if theres some sort of time frame they can give us because why would we wait more hours to sit around & wait when we could have made other arrangements? (The whole point of a reservation is to not wait) Anyways after no response I go to the person checking people in again to let them know its been over an hour of waiting & TADA automatically our table is ready. We get to the top & guess what? Multiple tables empty, I’m talking about the complete opposite of “ full house”. (Also we planned this to be our dinner & by the time we were seated the kitchen was closed) I’m extremely let down because I had high hopes for this restaurant but I have no desire to return due to how inhospitable they were (WITH THE EXEMPTION OF EMILY SHE WAS GREAT). I have videos and proof of tables sitting empty for over 20-30 mins meanwhile people downstairs were told it was a “full house”. Keep in mind we all had...
