We booked a reservation on a Saturday at 4:45 but unfortunately parking was a bit annoying (not the fault of the restaurant- just timing on our part) so my husband took a minute to arrive but I was seated despite being a bit late. We were there to celebrate our 13th anniversary and also try their set-course meals during the Queen’s Feast. The table was decorated with petals and I was handed a rose upon arrival- I wasn’t expecting that but it was such a nice touch and made me feel special! Our server was so nice and personable (I forgot her name I’m so sorry, I’m really bad about that-) and we really loved her! She said she finished training recently and we feel that she did fantastic was very attentive and just really added to our good experience there. I’m the type of person who gets anxious in some dining-settings so she really made me feel comfortable and that was very appreciated.
On top of our 3 course meals, we ordered an appetizer (tempura shrimp,) a martini recommended by our server and a mocktail. All of which were really good- the martini especially, and we aren’t really big drinkers but that was seriously so good! Since it was our anniversary our server also came and gave us two glasses of champagne as a surprise- that was so sweet and much appreciated!
We got the mussels and octopus for our 1st course sets. Both were so good but honestly the mussels were probably our favorite of the whole night. The tomato sauce was soooo good, I could probably drink it like a soup on its own! The mussels were a perfect texture- not rubbery at all, so soft and easy to bite into, and the bread was a great vehicle to eat with it all together.
For our second courses we got the flounder fillet and the salmon pasta. Again, both were really good. The flounder was definitely more of a winner though! The fish was so soft and moist but still crispy and flakey at the same time. The sauce that was served with it again was also such a show stopper, everything complimented each other so well.
For desert we had the chocolate cherry trifle and the creme brulee. My husband really likes chocolate and cherries so he loved his desert, and I absolutely devoured that creme brulee.
This was such a great experience and we enjoyed every bit of it so much we didn’t even have the time or thought to take any pictures to show. The 3-course meals were definitely a great deal to try a taste of what this restaurant has to offer. We definitely would love to come back once again, get our favorites from today and try...
Read moreI very rarely leave bad reviews, but after giving Sea Grill a fair amount of time to follow through, I feel it’s necessary to share my experience. I hosted out-of-town friends for dinner on Saturday, March 15th, and while we were looking forward to a great night, the experience fell short in several areas.
We were seated promptly and our waitress was very kind and attentive. And to be fair—the food, aside from the sushi, was really good. That’s honestly what made me open to returning. But the service? Extremely slow. It took 45 minutes just to get our drinks (including a single bottle of wine), and the food didn’t come out for two hours. We were there from 7 PM until nearly 11 PM. We expected a high bill (it was over $700), and that wasn’t an issue—but the service we received didn’t reflect the level of the dining experience we were hoping for.
One specific dish I have to call out is the Spicy Ocean Jewel Roll. It was completely loaded with mayonnaise—to the point that you couldn’t taste anything else. For a roll that’s highlighted on the menu, it was a huge letdown.
Another concern: when asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, we assumed still meant regular tap. Instead, we were brought multiple bottles of still water at $7 each—without any mention of the cost—and they kept bringing more bottles without checking with us. Also, we had confirmed in advance that we could split the check three ways for our party of eight. When it came time to pay, we were told they couldn’t do that, so we had to manually calculate everything ourselves.
After one of my friends posted about the experience on Yelp, I was contacted by a manager named Raven, who was kind, listened to what happened, and apologized. She said the general manager or owner would be reaching out and offering a gift card so we could come back and have a better experience.
That was three weeks ago. No one followed up. No call. No email. Nothing.
I wasn’t planning to write this review because I appreciated Raven’s outreach and felt the restaurant was taking steps to make things right. But when you say you’ll follow up and don’t, that’s not just disappointing—it’s unprofessional.
This review isn’t written out of anger—it’s about accountability. The food was strong enough that I wanted to come back. But the service, the lack of transparency, and ultimately the silence from management made it clear that customer experience isn’t being taken seriously. I hope Sea Grill does better, because they certainly have the...
Read moreI made a reservation on Open Table and noted that it was our wedding anniversary. My husband is a seafood lover, and having explored most of the restaurants in the Charlotte Metro area, we were excited to try something new. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted with a smile and a cheerful “Happy Anniversary.” The first floor was beautiful, but to our surprise, we were led upstairs. While the stairs were a bit of a workout, the upstairs layout was absolutely stunning.
At our table, rose petals beautifully marked the years of our marriage. Our server, Ibrahim, promptly took our drink order and gave us time to explore the menu. When he returned, he gave us an enthusiastic “tour” of the menu that completely changed our original plan. His suggestions were fantastic, and while there were many more dishes we wanted to try, we could only eat so much—next time for sure!
We started with raw oysters from Canada, which were fresh and delicious, complemented by a flavorful mignonette. The taco sushi roll was another hit; my husband loved it so much that I was lucky to get two pieces! The crab croquettes brought back memories of our recent trip to Spain—they were lightly breaded with a rich, all-crab filling. I couldn’t resist ordering the calamari based on Ibrahim’s description, and it didn’t disappoint. The calamari itself was so tender that I found myself eating it straight out of the breading, saving room for my main course.
For our entrées, my husband chose the shrimp-stuffed salmon with potatoes, while I opted for the Tom Yum pasta. The salmon was devoured quickly, with no evidence left behind, and my pasta was a delightful surprise—rich and unique, not like the soup I was used to. I couldn’t finish it, but I was excited to enjoy the rest the next day.
We ended with the crème brûlée, which was the perfect light and satisfying dessert. The sugar topping was delicate, making it all the more enjoyable.
Now, onto the service—what truly made the evening special. Ibrahim’s attentiveness, professionalism, and warmth made us feel like VIPs. The entire staff was not only attentive but also carried an air of elegance. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated, and I noticed a private room where guests were clearly having a great time. With a built-in DJ booth and bar, it’s the perfect spot for a celebration. We can’t wait to return and dive into more of the dishes Ibrahim recommended and that our taste buds are...
