As often as I visit local restaurants in Charlotte and surrounding areas, I will say this was the hands down worse experience. The service absolutely awful. It began the moment we sat down. Our server did not introduce himself. Instead he walked over and spoke extremely loudly that he needed to know how the checks would be split. Our entire party was caught off guard and wondered why he decided this was the table he wanted to embarrass or forget his table manners. The service we received was below lackluster. I’m offended to have experienced such a crappy visit on a day we should have been celebrating. Cortney needs immediate attention and mediation on how to deal with clients.
Even more appalling is watching Cortney interact with a completely different table in another demeanor. He was fun and kind with the table across from us. I would like to think in 2024 “race/ethnicity” would not play a part in the service received as a patron, but I would be naive to pretend the disparaging experience excluded that as a contributor.
Fast forward to receiving our food, missing items, miscommunication from our server. To top it all off our checks were incorrect. After raising the issue to Cortney’s attention the experience went extremely down hill. Not only was he rude, disrespectful, and lacked the experience to deal with the error; but he somehow though raising his voice and yelling at us that moving our seats was the reason for the all the issues. This could’ve escalated a lot further, but as experienced professionals we took the high road.
We came to PF Changs to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Instead we left with her in tears after an insane wait time of over an hour to close out the tab for the table. As we told Cortney and the stand in manager at the bar for the evening, it was never about the money; it was the principle. Gratuity is expected in Charlotte at almost every venue despite party size. But to be damn near hustled out of being expected to pay between $200-300 more than the total is absolutely ridiculous. Even after paying gratuity we were then being rail roaded into being asked to pay additional fees.
This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. If I could give this location any advice, it would be to train your people on the basic standard of the service industry. It took everything we had to hold our tongue tonight, but it’s guaranteed I will...
Read moreUpdate 12/20/23: About a week after I left this review, the manager of the restaurant reached out to me and offered to remake the meal. I declined, and he offered a dessert on the house. I picked up the cheesecake and it was good, and the sauce on the side has a really nice flavor to it.
I ordered takeout from this P.F. Chang's on December 2nd, 2023. I selected Curbside Pickup and texted when I arrived, and received a text saying my food would be brought out shortly. It wasn’t, and I went inside. After a few minutes, I got my food. By the time I got home and sat down to eat, the food was lukewarm, so I don’t know how long it was sitting out for me to get the food.
I ordered the Family Value Bundle with Dynamite Shrimp, Crispy Honey Chicken with brown rice, and Orange Chicken with fried rice. I also ordered soy sauce, the sauce bundle, and utensils/chopsticks. I received two plastic forks, three fortune cookies, and no chopsticks. My takeout order bag had a few packets of soy sauce and two plastic containers of another dark sauce, maybe the dumpling sauce. I didn’t receive the other sauces that came with the sauce bundle, and whatever sauce I did receive tasted off, like it was way too bitter.
The Dynamite Shrimp was actually good, or I was so hungry I ate it without tasting it. After the shrimp, I went to try the chicken. Both chicken dishes had a very strange consistency. The only word I could use to describe the chicken is “soggy.” There was no crispiness at all. The soggy chicken feeling lingered in my mouth for hours after eating. The flavor of the Honey Chicken was okay, and it was edible for lukewarm chicken. The flavor of the Orange Chicken was horrible and inedible. Trader Joe’s frozen mandarin orange chicken has a much better flavor than this orange chicken. The rice was edible, but any of the fried rice with the orange chicken sauce on it was too bad to eat, it also was just too bitter. To top it off, something I ate made me ill and I had to throw all the leftovers away. I don’t think it was full food poisoning, but it definitely wasn’t fun. For the next few hours, I debated if it would be better to vomit so maybe the nausea and the feeling of soggy chicken in the back of my throat could go away. I ordered a lot of food so I could have leftovers to eat, but I basically threw nearly $40 away and spent my Saturday night wishing I would...
Read moreMy wife has been telling me for years she wanted to try PF Chang's and I've avoided it because it's literally a food chain that sold in grocery stores so we went in there for her birthday on Christmas Eve we had a reservation for 5:15 p.m. granted we only had to wait about 5 minutes before we were seated and I understand it's a little busy being that it's Christmas Eve but I also understand I've spent almost my entire life cooking and kitchens so when we ordered our appetizer it took a good little bit for some egg rolls to come out which if you asked me they tasted like you took them out of the Frozen aisle of the grocery store and deep fry them because they definitely did not have a fresh taste to them so then after we ate we continue to wait for our food and again I understand being busy but when we wait 50 minutes and still no food comes that's very unacceptable I don't care how busy you are I have never in my life ran a 50 minute ticket time whoever was running that kitchen should be fired immediately it's Christmas Eve and you're running a 50 minute ticket time the kitchen manager definitely dropped the ball on that one but it's a very unfortunate situation because again it was my wife's birthday it's our first year as husband and wife for her birthday and PF Chang's ruin the entire experience you should get some better staff or something because I don't know what happened but being that it's Christmas Eve y'all should have been better prepared so after complaining to the waitress she said she would go back and check on how much longer it would be before our food came now mind you it is already been 50 minutes so when she came back to my table telling me it's going to be another 10 minutes for some sesame chicken and broccoli and beef we asked for our check for the appetizer and we left because it only takes 10 minutes to cook those items you and I both know this we all know this horrible horrible experience and I doubt we'll...
