I recently had the pleasure of visiting the new anticipated Rosemont wine & market restaurant .I must say, it was a fantastic experience! I can see this new establishment quickly becoming a favorite for the locals .
From the moment we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dim lighting, all that was missing was some soft jazz music playing in the background and the elegant decor created the perfect ambiance for a romantic evening. So heres the kicker it’s giving two different worlds because when you first come in it’s a grab and go lunch Market inside in front , so it’s two separate vibes .The attentive and friendly staff greeted us with genuine smiles, further enhancing our overall impression.
Now let's talk about the food! The menu is a true culinary delight. We started with their fried oysters which was beautifully. Each bite was a harmonious combination of flavors that left us craving for more. The salad was refreshing and the dip I probably could have lived without I wasn’t a fan of the crackers which kind of put me in the mind of saltines . For the main course, we decided to try their special of the evening, the pan-seared sea bass. It was cooked to perfection, with a delicate crispness on the outside and moist, flaky flesh on the inside. It was a delightful symphony of flavors that truly impressed us. We also tried the duck & Wagyu all chefs kiss !
To complement our meal, we explored their extensive wine selection. The knowledgeable sommelier was more than happy to recommend a wine that perfectly paired with our dishes. We ended up trying a crisp Chardonnay and a velvety Cabernet Sauvignon, both of which exceeded our expectations. What truly sets Rosemont apart is the combination of their wine bar and market. Not only can you enjoy a wonderful dining experience, but you can also explore their carefully curated selection of wines and take a bottle home to savor later. The market section is well-stocked with a variety of premium wines from around the world, making it a wine lover's paradise. Overall, our experience at Rosemont Wine Bar & Market was nothing short of exceptional. The delectable dishes, the date night vibes, and the knowledgeable staff made it a memorable evening for us. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and romantic spot to enjoy delicious food and excellent wine. We can't wait to return for another...
Read moreDecided to try this new Charlotte restaurant before an event in uptown. Conveniently located in the elizabeth neighborhood, we appreciated how easy the parking was. All in all the location is great dining and then driving directly in to uptown.
The overall setting is welcoming, open, and comfortable— could definitely see visiting the space just to sit and unwind.
The menu is not broken in to courses and instead a long list of items — with no apparent order. We decided to order 2 dishes per person to share…and see if that was enough. The server, Julian, was helpful in guiding us through the sizes of the various dishes.
We started with the loaded hummus - what a great presentation; they even brought out vegetables as an alternative to the naan chips. With colorful toppings, such as artichoke hearts and olives and pimento peppers, the dish looked great, and tasted fresh, but we really would’ve liked more flavors to come out of those toppings.
Next we ordered the Ahi Tuna, which was prepared nicely. Once again, the sauce did not really add to the dish, though the pickled radish, carrot combo was a nice addition. Would consider ordering this again.
As a final course, we ordered the potatoes and the celery steaks. The potatoes were not labeled gluten free on the menu due to the cross-contamination of the fryer, but we chose them anyways as we wanted some starch with the meal. The Dijon sauce served with the potatoes was delicious and the potatoes were nicely cooked. The celery steak was a beautiful presentation; the mushrooms on top definitely made the dish memorable.
The one surprising part of the meal was the wine. The wine glasses were warm to the touch when brought to the table, leaving the wine inside to be warm as well. The only rosé offered by glass, from France, was bland and unmemorable. The California cab offered by the glass was simply fine, but definitely nothing we would order again. When we go back, we will probably select a bottle of wine from the market and seek some guidance from the team, since the wines by the glass option did not wow us.
Worth the visit and hope to see this space continue to welcome diners for...
Read moreA 3.5 may be more accurate simply for the price point compared to the portion size you get. I’m not a huge eater but I felt these plates were barely shareable and at a hugely marked up price point.
Service: friendly and efficient. We had trouble choosing a wine for brunch and their sommelier came over and was super knowledgeable and helpful. We were really happy with the wine he helped us choose.
Ambience: it’s a beautiful, bright, and airy market. Seating inside and out - there’s really not a bad table in the place. Decor was gorgeous, too.
Food: good but very expensive for such small portions. My friend and I aren’t huge eaters but we ordered several plates just to feel full. I think we spent close to $250 on brunch including tip and the bottle of wine (which was about $30ish). Maybe that’s standard these days? We liked everything we got and it was beautifully presented. We got: scallops ($21), hamachi crudo ($21), ahi tuna ($20), mushrooms ($14) and fingerling potatoes x2 ($15) and enjoyed each dish. I get seafood is expensive but you get 2 scallops for $21 and you can get double that on a bed of grits for $37 at Restaurant Constance. I also feel the sides, while delicious, we’re overpriced for mushroom and potatoes. I haven’t been this sour paying a bill since my experience at Para.
Overall, beautiful place and tasty food but at that price point, I can’t do a full meal. I’d love to come back for some wine and maybe a plate before or after...
