9/9 update - STILL CAN’T TALK TO MY MOM DAILY. OVER A MONTH AND THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED THE NON WORKING PHONE IN HER ROOM AND REFUSE TO PUT HER IN ANOTHER ROOM. MY MOM IS A DEMENTIA PATIENT. PRETTY SOON SHE WON’T REMEMBER WHO I AM AND THEY ARE PREVENTING ME FROM TALKING TO HER DAILY! SEE BELOW FOR NEW PICTURE OF MY MOM’S FRIEND TRYING TO GET IN CONTACT WITH HER AND SHE CANT
8/29 - still no working phone in my mom’s room. They refuse to transfer her to a room with a working phone or put a working phone in the room. Reign/Rain on 7th floor attitude is despicable! Not welcoming or helpful compared to other nurses at the nurses station. I pray for the day my mom leaves this hospital and placed in a memory care facility.
Update : Since they had my review removed. And still another day without a working room phone for my mom. I’ve spoken to SEVERAL people in regards to this matter and still no phone. Either get a working line or transfer her to a different room with a WORKING PHONE! Read below for the rest of the issues.
Worst hospital ever! First off, thanks to the couple nurses and the one or two caregivers that look out for my mom and take care of her. Thanks to Beverly, Marianne, Veronica and Nancy. Most of the caregivers in her room just sits there and do absolutely NOTHING, my mom would be sitting in urine in a dark room and they won’t check her… No one ever gives her water but the caregivers are all sitting with their water bottle. Her lips are always dry and cracked till skin is hanging off because she’s dehydrated and no one will even put a bit of lip balm or even Vaseline on her lips. Found a MOLDED sandwich in my mom’s room that she was about to eat!!!!!
My mom has dementia they should be constantly checking her room to make sure there is nothing harmful around. My mom was admitted with a new iPhone I bought her and every time I go and ask for it they can’t find it. I was told it was there in a drawer at the nurses station after I left. Went back and again no one could find it. They are always giving me the run around. Now her room phone has not been working for almost 3 weeks and I can’t talk to her when I want to. I have to call and speak to 3 different people before getting to talk to her. I was told 3 weeks ago her phone in the room should be working the next day. Called today and still not working! Spoke to the rudest nurse on the 7th floor just now who can’t comprehend basic English. I’ve been trying to tell her the phone isn’t working you cannot transfer me and she still transferred me in the middle of me talking to her. She was very dismissive and not helpful plus a bit rude. She hung up and now I’m calling again and she won’t pick up the phone. The phone just rings out. This is so not fair! I try to call my mom pretty much everyday because in her condition any day now she won’t remember who I am so I try to call her as much as possible since I live out of state. I’m the only family member that’s there for her and they are making it difficult for me to talk to her. Unacceptable!!! Incompetent case worker who refuses to help with my mom’s situation. I believe her name is Tiffany! She is never around! Spoke to another case worker who said they’ll call me back and never did!! My mom been in this hospital since October 2024 and it’s August 2025. Still no help or any lead to help get her Medicaid so she can be placed in a home for memory care. Case worker never calls me back! Always saying there is no other option so she has to live in the hospital. Are you kidding me! Do not let your loved ones go here! Read other reviews. If you care about them keep them away...

I had my 3rd knee revision surgery yesterday and stayed overnight in the hospital. The surgery services were amazing. I had the same nurse as I had last year Julie. She was so comforting and made my pre-op services great. My doctor had a canceled surgery before mine, so my surgery was pushed up a few hours. When we got there all the staff worked together to get me ready. Everyone was so kind to each other.
Post op, my nurse was really kind. Offered me pain meds before I even asked and got me something to drink and snack on. She made sure I remained safe and felt a relief knowing I had great care.
I was transferred to a room and the nurse that came in told me my nurse was eating lunch so she was taking me. She was really nice so I am glad I got her. All the services were good, but really did not feel the warmth as last time with nursing and CNA staff. They were all nice but I had to ask for water, and snacks. It would have been nice for them to clean off my tray as I was stuck in bed and could not get out of bed without them due to being a fall risk from my surgery.
The food was good and the food manager rounded this morning to make sure I liked everything. We did, so that was a plus.
Discharge went well, my meds were called into my pharmacy and discharged was explained in detail. PT and OT were amazing. They really made sure I was safe to go home today. We also got to see the volunteer dog Oscar, he was adorable and made our day.
Overall another great surgery at Mercy and my stay was really good. I came to this hospital because this is were my doctor goes to. I would not hesitate to use them again!!! Great Job!!
April 2023
I had a Total knee revision surgery this week. I have only been here once before for foot surgery back in 2015. Pre-op and post-op surgery nurses and staff were amazing. They are all so polite and friendly. My CRNA was so kind and caring. He was one of the best I have had.
When I was sent to 7th floor after surgery one thing I will say is that I sat in my room for 15-20 minutes before I saw anyone. The nurse finally came in. The rest of the time the care was good. Senae, RN day shift nurse and Daniela, RN night shift were very kind and caring. They talked with me which was nice as I was alone because my husband had to leave after surgery so it was nice to have friendly staff.
PT Nick and OT Amanda were amazing. Not only did they do their job but they went above and beyond to get me water, ice for my knee and extra pillows. Those things I did not get when checking into my room, so they made sure I had it.
During my overnight stay the night time charge nurse and daytime charge nurse came into my room to see if I had everything I needed. When I mentioned something in particular to them they wrote it down to discuss with their staff. So they seemed interested in making sure all patients received great service. I left today and have to say overall it was a great hospital experience. Oh I forgot to say the food was very good and this morning food management came into room to make sure the food was good.
So I am not sure of all these negative reviews but being an RN, I can say that my stay was very positive and I would come back here to have surgery again.
Thanks for the...
Read moreLet me just start off by saying, the staff was very nice and understanding. I took my mom in to be detoxed and to get help for her ongoing alcohol problem of 10+ years. This place was suggested strongly by our insurance company. After 4-5 hours, they discharged her. They said they didn't have any open beds, after letting her sober up. My mom finally admitted she needed help and this place doesn't have anything in store for those with alcohol problems when they don't have an open bed. I know this isn't the fault of anyone who works here.. but whoever is in charge most defiantly needs to figure out a solution. Considering this is a place where people with alcohol (and drug) problems frequently go to receive help, I was very disappointed that they did not try to find her help outside of the facility. I was told there is no psychiatric unit, or therapists on site which disgusts me! Are people that struggle with suicidal thoughts or even try to commit suicide just discharged after the current problem is solved?! They need to come up with a better system to support the people that come in with life threatening issues outside of car accidents, falling off a ladder, common illnesses, and so on! Thank God we were able to find her a bed elsewhere in a little over 24 hours.. that's enough time for someone looking for help to change their mind! (which she did) Oh, and I'd also like to point out that they put my mother in the hallway and we were forced to either sit at the head of the bed or not sit with her at all. We need to make a difference and help this world change to support our people that struggle with addiction, especially if you are going to have a hospital based on helping people with addiction. We could have taken her to our local hospital and received on site therapy and psychiatry, but took her here because we were not told on the phone that they had no beds open! The hospital near where we live also would have found her placement ELSEWHERE instead of simply discharging her! STOP LETTING PEOPLE DIE AND KILL THEMSELVES AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! PUT SOMETHING IN PLACE TO HELP THESE PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ADVERTISE THAT YOU SPECIALIZE IN THAT! I would personally like to thank the nurses that did speak to me, and told me how much of a great job I was doing dealing with all of this. I give the staff that I encountered a full 5 stars, but as for the doctor that wouldn't even speak to me, and spoke to my mom ONE time when they weren't even that busy, I give you 1 star. You chose to be a doctor, now do your job and SAVE LIVES... if that's not your goal here, then you shouldn't be a doctor. In my opinion, the nurses who work here should transfer somewhere else where their amazing intuition will be recognized and used! VERY DISAPPOINTED IN OUR VISIT AND WILL NOT BE BACK!
UPDATE: 1 year later I am devastated because CMC Mercy didn't help my mom when we came in. In March 2018 my mother, only 47 years old, passed away due to her addiction. If CMC Mercy would have had a bed open or transferred her to the proper place, my mother would still be here. I'm 20 and my brother is 24 and now we have to continue our lives without our mother who once...
