Showmars 7th Street — Restaurant in Charlotte

Today I decided to order for curbside because I had just left a doctors appointment from that hospital. Not too far from this location and I adore the fish sandwich. I always order it with tarter sauce on the side. Today through the app, the tater tots popped up first, so I decided to click on that since I had not had it in a while. The fish sandwich was delicious btw but the smell that I noticed right after the person gave me my food and I rolled the window up in my car was very strong, the smell I could only associate with ( old ) cooking grease. I begin trying to smell everything first, the sandwich and noticed that it was not the smell coming from the fish sandwich, so when I picked up one tater tot and put it to my nose, I instantly recognize that it was the tater tot that smelled like the strong old cooking grease. I decided not to eat it. I did throw them away and did not return back to the store to get a refund because it was a meal, so I’m pretty sure they would’ve looked at me crazy if I decided to ask for a refund but just wanted to notify you that today you all should definitely change that cooking grease so that no one else has to experience that smell. I went to order a gyro, but noticed they now have Beyond Burgers. My daughter is a vegan, so I'm always looking for things she can eat wherever I go. I asked the very nice, friendly lady behind the counter if she knew if the brioche bun it's served on has any eggs or butter in it. She went back in the kitchen, pulled the label off the box and brought it out to me. We both read it and there was no mention of any animal products. In my opinion, she went above and beyond to do that for me, and it seemed like she truly cared.

I got home and had some of my gyro, but it wasn't up to par with other ones I've had at local places. Maybe not enough tzatziki? The meat wasn't as flavorful as I'm used to and it was a little tough. I was disappointed, but I texted my daughter, who was excited about the Beyond Burger, and she and I arranged to meet back at Showmar's. She got up to the counter, ordered, and was told they were currently out of that product.

The first time I went there I ordered an item that was written on the menu but was no longer being carried. I know things change, suppliers run out of items, etc., but it's still disappointing. So 5 stars for...

A little disappointed! Walked in was greeted with a warm smile and a hello. After ordering my food I asked for extra tartar sauce and ketchup. She said okay . The food comes after waiting over 20minutes with no condiments. I asked for 2 tartar sauce and some packs of ketchup. Was told it would be extra charge for tarter. When I went to register to get it because the waiter didn’t bring it back to the table. She told me the cashier was getting it. She gave it to me with one tartar when I asked for another she told I already got tartar on my sandwich and it will be a charge for another one. We going back and forth over 1 additional tartar sauce (the cashier) she had the nerve to tell me “next time it will be a charge”Well it may not be a next time at this location. Besides if it was a charge she should’ve told me when I order. Not to mention my food is cold by itself his time. No one returned to ask if we need refills or anything while serving the other table in our section where we were seated. I have a whole lot of...
