My girlfriend and I ate at Caswell Station last night and had a great experience. Originally we were going to eat at Moo & Brew (best burgers in Charlotte IMO) but they had an hour+ wait and we were quite hungry. My girlfriend recommended Caswell because she works down the street at the hospital and heard they honor a 10% discount for hospital employees (awesome show of support for the local community).
It was quite busy when we arrived (NC State v Duke basketball game was on, as well as a NFL game) so we were told it also was going to be an hour wait, but we didn't feel like driving somewhere else a second time. As soon as we made our way to the bar to order a couple drinks the hostess--who we just talked to 5 mins prior--came over to escort us to an open table. We were convinced they pulled a table in from the patio to seat us faster, which is stellar customer service. Our server, Amanda, came over the moment we got seated, introduced herself, took our drink order, and even helped fix our table so it wasn't as wobbly. Though she was busy, she was very kind, patient, and made us feel valued as guests. She was very attentive the entire time we were there; even after we paid our bill and sat to watch the remainder of the game, she checked on us and continued to pour us water.
The atmosphere is awesome. I love all the TVs and projectors! No matter where you are in the building, you're guaranteed a good view of the game(s). Which--believe it or not--a lot of sports bars and pubs struggle with achieving. I'll definitely be going back to watch the Panthers in the playoffs. The food was just as awesome as the atmosphere: I had the Breakfast burger with tater tots and my girlfriend had the Caswell burger with mac n cheese (although the tater tots were cooked and seasoned near-perfectly, the mac n cheese won dish of the night). Now for an honest review of the burger: 7.5/10. I am somewhat of a burger connoisseur. Were the bacon a little crispier, and the patty slightly juicier, it easily would've earned a spot in my Top 5 list. My girlfriend said the Caswell burger was delicious as well.
We also ordered the Dip Trio as an appetizer, and while it was good, we did feel the pimento cheese needed a little reworking (too much mayonnaise perhaps? Missing jalapenos?).
Overall, we had an awesome experience. I kept telling my girlfriend "This is exactly what Elizabeth needs", "the neighborhood bar...

You seriously won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere is vibrant but relaxed, the staff is super friendly, and the food and drinks are on point.
I visited on Sunday around 12 PM, and our waitress Katie was phenomenal! She checked in with us often, explained the drink and food menu clearly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our meal.
For food, I ordered the Caswell Breakfast Burger with a side of hash browns, plus the Shigh Hi Calamari as an appetizer. The burger was juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right—the crispy hash browns paired with it perfectly. The calamari had a generous portion, with both ring and tentacle pieces, and came topped with a flavorful chili glaze—so good!
I also tried the Honey Glazed Chicken Sandwich with French fries. The sandwich was delicious and the fries were crispy, well-seasoned, and came in a good portion. I do wish I had a bit more hash browns, but overall everything was tasty and satisfying.
Now let’s talk drinks—$5 mimosas are a steal, and one glass is plenty! I also tried their mimosa with tequila ($12) and it was excellent. They offer different mimosa flavors, too, which is a nice bonus.
Heads up on parking: they have a parking lot behind the building, so don’t park in the garage across the street unless necessary. That garage charges after the first 15 minutes ($5 for every additional 15 minutes). Stick to the lot behind if you can!
Also, gratuity may be added to your bill depending on your party size—it wasn’t added to mine, so just double-check when paying.
I believe the manager or owner—Hash—also came by to check in on our table and was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s clear they care about creating a great experience for their guests.
Highly recommend for an affordable, fun, and flavorful brunch. I’ll...
Read moreAfter frequently visiting this restaurant for three years, our patronage has come to an end due to a lack of professionalism and accountability from the management. I brought my family along after attending a concert the previous night. During the visit, one of our guests ordered a Greek salad and specifically requested no feta. Despite the extended wait caused by the limited staff struggling to meet the guests' demands, we informed our server about the salad issue. The server, who was handling a large party and three other tables on the patio, summoned the manager to our table. The manager's immediate response, blaming our guest for not being aware that the dressing contained feta, was unprofessional. Instead of addressing the minor issue with the salad, we decided to request our check as the manager escalated the situation into a shouting match.
We had to ask for water and boxes a second time, having waited over 18 minutes upon arrival without receiving any water. The manager went so far as to remove my salad, which I had hardly touched, and discarded it. When we mentioned this to the manager, he deflected responsibility, making the issue about who moved the plate from the table. The discrepancy was evident since we were short one bowl after ordering four entree salads.
As someone who has successfully managed food service establishments for seven years, it's incredibly disappointing to encounter key holders who lack the qualities of true leaders. Instead of listening and understanding, they respond defensively. I anticipate taking this matter to the proper channels, including the Better Business Bureau (BBB), as it's disheartening to believe that unethical practices still persist in 2023. I strongly recommend implementing comprehensive cross-training in workplace practices and effective...
