We ordered through Uber eats and ordered the Sakura sandwich, and it was very delicious and fresh. The bread had a great crunch but not too much where youre scratching the inside of your mouth like with some other breads. Crunchy and chewy - it was perfect. As someone who is korean, i sometimes feel weird about seeing sesame oil in other starches/carbs outside of rice (or noodles) but this actually worked so well I was pleasantly surprised. The tuna was seasoned perfectly and well dressed. We dont have pictures unfortunately bc I devoured this sandwich before i even thought about taking a picture
We also ordered the la lima salad - for $9 it was larger than we expected and we loved the addition of the Arugula with the romaine lettuce. We didnt see the avocado in there though which i think it would have made it more filling. However, it was still delicious and filling with the hard boiled eggs. The yuzu citrus dressing was light with the perfect amount of sweetness. Great for a hot day like today. This salad accompanied nicely with the pieces of tuna that fell out of the sandwich haha
We also ordered the yuca fries and the yellow dipping sauce was also very good; not greasy at all and the yellow sauce was rich and tangy. Overall, we found ourselves appreciating their salt levels bc we've recently been encountering restaurants where it was on the verge of being too salty or overtly salty (to the point where we wondered if our tastebuds were just being weird). La Lima was perfect in portion size, seasoning, flavor, and freshness. Can't wait to try the...
Read moreI was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere. The design is elegant yet minimalist, with high ceilings and soft touches of greenery that make the space feel light and welcoming. It’s a happy, well-lit spot that gives you a good impression.
One constructive observation: the tables are quite close together, which made it a bit hard to enjoy a relaxed conversation when the place was busy. A little more space between tables could enhance the overall restaurant experience.
A second one: I tried the chicharrón, and I enjoyed the sweet and slightly spicy flavor. It was original and satisfying. The pork was tender with a sweet, rich taste that stood out. However, it had small cubes of boiled sweet potatoes inside, which added an interesting texture. I’d suggest trying fried sweet potatoes or perhaps oven-roasted slices to bring a crispier texture that complements the chicharrón better.
The chicha morada and maracuyá drinks were flavorful, but they came with a lot of ice, which diluted the taste quickly. I didn’t have a chance to ask for less ice, as the drinks were served very fast.
Service-wise, I was greeted with a smile at the cashier. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made me feel welcome.
Overall, it was an interesting and enjoyable experience. I appreciate the creativity in the flavors and the effort in the ambiance. I’d definitely give it another try, and I’m curious to try the...
Read moreWe got there 20 mins before closing and the cashier took about 5 minutes just to acknowledge us, which already felt off. They told us it was fine to dine in, but when we sat down the table was dirty and I had to clean it myself. When I went to wash my hands, there was no soap, and after I let the waitress know, she gave me attitude before refilling it and telling me it was done like it was some big inconvenience. The food came out quick and was okay, but definitely not worth $16 and they even mixed up our sides. We didn’t get napkins or silverware and had to get them ourselves from the station. The beer was warm too, not even slightly cold. The whole place was too hot, I was literally sweating. And when we were getting ready to leave, a worker told us to clean the table. I get that cleaning up after yourself is kind of an unspoken rule, but I don’t think that’s something you say to first time customers especially if you want them to come back. What hurt the most, though, was the feeling that we were only told to do that because we’re Latino. That’s the worst feeling is supporting your own community’s business and still being treated differently. This place feels more about the aesthetic than the actual service or value. There are plenty of other spots that give you more bang for your buck. I won’t be...
