This place is nice, atmosphere is great - small room upstairs with a rustic speak easy vibe and comfy couches, but the bartender and drinks need some work.
Got 4 drinks total. Whiskey with coke, could barley tell there was whiskey in there.
Went for the 2nd round and the bartender rudely told me he was busy with some type of presentation. Acted super annoyed for me ordering another 2 very simple drinks.
Had to wait 15-20 mins after that to close out. Our 2nd round of drinks tasted like water. I don’t mind waiting, as this guy was clearly the only bartender. I get it. I just don’t know why you’re annoyed with bar patrons ordering drinks in a bar.
35 bucks and barley buzzed.
I’d come back if I wasn’t treated like I was annoying the bartender and the drinks had more alcohol in them. (I can barley take a shot, so for me to say it’s a weak drink..)
Still tipped because that’s my nature. But this bar, would not recommend unless the service and...
Read moreLooks like a nice place but the bartenders are far from it. We came in tonight and waited in line patiently since there was only one bartender working. I mean, we WAITED! Then 2 other bartenders show up, bar clears out. New customers come and sit at the bar while the line of people are getting served. Finally, it’s our turn in line and the entire crew blatantly ignored us and served the 3 groups who came in. We still waited to see and a new group of people come in and served before us. I then say something to the bartender that it’s rude that they’ve skipped us multiple times and we’ve been waiting 30 minutes and he responds with “have a goodnight”. I mean, we came here to get a nice drink and instead we left upset. Keep the bar,...
Read moreWhat a great place! My thanks to Thomas for telling me about The Cotton Room. And Brad for sharing his knowledge of Rye whiskey. At one point, I thought I was keeping those young men from closing up and going home. They explained that as the night goes on, the crowd files in. It did. Many young people enjoying craft cocktails. Those bartenders know how to mix. And the bar is well stocked. Great Irish whiskeys. Good rye. Quality mixers and a plethora of bitters! A shake of walnut bitters can enhance a whiskey or rye. And they have the big ice cube so your drink is chilled without getting watered down. Cotton Room is the place. Try it your next night meandering through Uptown Charlotte. It's upstairs from Belfast on...
