I went there with my Mom who has Celiacs Disease & and Hashimotos. Both of these diseases make it impossible for her to comsume Gluten. That's what needs to be known 1st. This was about June or July. She was very excited for us to go because a mutual friend of ours had raved about the place. 2nd When we went in I presented the coupon we had bought online for half off ($40 order becomes $20 or $30 order becomes $10 order)every other restaurant we had been to had honored the $20 off even if the bill was $21 they still took the $20 off this will be relevant later on. I asked for corn tortilla chips so my Mom could eat the appetizers to seeing as she couldn't have any food with Gluten in it. The server assured me they were corn tortilla chips twice. When the chips got to the table they were deepfried flour tortilla chips. Decidedly not what I asked for or was assured they would be. Throughout the entire dining experience after our food arrived the server basically ignored us and seemed very disinterested in any symblance of good customer service. We were the only customers in the restaurant the whole time we were there. I offered to ask to get them replaced and my Mom refused then just didn't eat until our dishes came. At first I was happy because I had donated plasma and I was starving. But like 6 or 7 bites in all the meat was gone. That means there was a single piece of chicken per bite 6-7 bites. The rest was rice & veggies with potatoes, lots of potatoes. So I was done very disappointed and just drank my drink. I didn't even take anything to go which I normally do. Not this time. When were we checked on? As we obviously stacked our dishes at the edge of the table. Finally she gets up from the table directly across from us. Meaning she could see us the entire meal and just didn't check on us at all. When she did I clearly asked for a drink refill. She didn't bring it. To be fair she brought me an empty cup with a lid and straw for my cup full of ice and no drink so I had to clarify that I wanted more drink. I was finally given a refill after I asked for it at the counter as I paid for our meals. Meaning we spent like 45 minutes in the store and when she checked on us blew me off when I asked for a refill and I was only given a refill after I asked for it a 2nd time at the register before we went to leave. However at the checkout the cashier tried to 1st charge me the full amount and I stuttered in astonishment because the cashier was the server I presented the coupon to at the beginning of the meal. I just sat there with a slack jawed stare because she said herself that they would honor it at the end of the meal and now she was trying to tell me that they wouldn't. So she walks off and passes me off to an older white female who calls the number on the coupon and actually adds it to the bill and brings the meal down. Not by half which is what the coupon was for, but like $10 off which is not what the coupon said. I was so fed up at this point that I insisted that the $20 be taken off and not just the $10 because I just couldn't afford only a $10 reduction when it was supposed to be a $20 reduction. So I ordered a 4th drink to go to make the final bill $40+ to get them to honor the $20 off.

The food though seasoned ok was overcompensated with potatoes rice and some veggies. Asking for corn tortilla chips and getting flour tortilla chips instead. Absolutely not worth $11 to $14(just my meal)OVERPRICED. Asking 2 times for a refill after sitting for over 15 minutes with a cup of ice and clearly no more drink. Having to argue and make more purchases to get them to honor a coupon they had already said they would honor. Being ignored for 30 out of the 45 minutes of the time we were there. Lastly I did see several roach carcasses on the way to and from the restroom.

I don't recommend and I won't go back!

I personally believe that if there are any positive reviews for this restaurant they were paid for(at least 75% of them...

I love Taconooga, just like I 💕 Chattanooga. You will love them too. They are in the Hot 🔥 bed of tourism easy to find.I have eaten there several times being an officer patrolling the Walnut Street Bridge. The facility is Small but their food is Big. Don't worry ! A lot of customers eat at the Beautiful Coolidge Park across the Street. If seating is not available they take it with them. The customer service is so cool😎. They don't waste no time getting your food out. Guess what ? They get the food so fast it's never long before a 🪑 is available. Talking about fast service 😊. No wonder a lot police 🚓 , fire department, and ems service employees eat there. They serve some very quick 😋 appetizers to get you ready for the main menu. I love the Chicken Tortilla Soup. The Queso Dip and Chips are always popular. You can get a side of Beans, Rice, and more items. You can order extra tomatoes, lettuce, 🥬 avocado 🥑, onion 🧅, cilantro and cheese 🧀. If you are vegan this will certainly work for you. Moving on.I got to have the meat lol.The Frazier is loaded with meat. What is it ? It's grilled chicken, shrimp 🍤, bacon, 🥓, garlic, 🧅, mushrooms topped with melted mozzarella OMG.. I'm hungry ok. My favorite of all times 😍. It could become your favorite it's just a matter of taste. There so many other items from Taco, and Tamales not the same your makes🙂. Please, don't forget something to drink. They have some adult beverages and traditional 🥤.If you are not too full try dessert 🎂 Its delicious 😋. I say try it , you will like it . Otherwise you will get plenty of food. The great combinations are some of the best. Shout out to Taconooga. You guys are ready to expand. They could , and you should ! We appreciate your food, and love the diversity of your business. I 💕...

This is my new favorite taco shop in Chattanooga, TN, right here. Why ? The corn tortilla that are doubled up have butter on them. They are big fluffy buttery tacos right here. Yummy! This is a mom-and-pop restaurant with a limited eating area but is so worth the time. I spoke with my server that was from Guatemala, and she was very helpful with my gluten allergy. She made sure they had no cross-contamination for me. I tried three tacos, which I was so stuffed after. Beans and cheese Beans, fried eggs, and sauce Avocado taco They were all super yummy and loved every bite. I have done reviews for a living the last 3 years, with over 78 million hits while traveling our wonderful nation to find this gem right in my hometown. I am going to address some of the negative reviews right now. The cost of this meal was very reasonable and cheap too me for the quality / quantity given. How someone can complain about small portions here is beyond me. No, this is not an open buffet type of place, but I was stuffed with 3 tacos with beans / rice. I wanted dessert but wouldn't make it out the door. I will have to come back to try the desserts. This is a great meal and place to visit right on the main street in North Shore. I love seeing businesses thriving in this day and age because I have seen a lot of great business close the last 3 years across this country because of covid. So go out and support business like this one and stop complaining when you're comparing buffet servings to good quality healthy foods for a McDonald's price. You pay for what you get here.

Peace out, be safe, everyone You will see this restaurant on my youtube...

Surprise! More Authentic than Hipster In the heart of the North Chatt "hispster district," Taconooga had somehow escaped me. I am really glad that I had lunch there recently - I should have come earlier. I know all forms of Mexican food. Truth be know, I like most varieties as long as it is fresh, well-prepared and tasty. Taconooga is pretty close to authentic (if you see lengua on the menu, it's a sign), My son and I started lunch with the Guaca-Mex dip. It's rough chopped avocado dip with excellent chips. Guacamole demands great avocados and these were perfect. We added some of the Tacanooga red salsa that is on every table. Also quite good. I ordered two sopes. These are basically thick tortillas that are fried. I chose chorizo and chicken as the meats. Beans, queso fresco and a cabbage.red onion slaw are mounded on top/ There were probably the largest sopes I have ever seen and they were good. My son hada huarache, which is pretty much just one big sope. Being a vegetarian, he eschewed the meat. I like the ambiance. It's cozy but nicely decorated. The owner came to the table to check on us, which is always a nice thing. I look forward to trying more of their interesting menu.

This was a pickup order. I'm so mad right now because of how hungry the kids and I are and we're craving Mexican food. The last picture is of the Mexican Street Corn. Let me know if you can find the corn. I was so hungry that I thought I'd just eat it anyways, but it didn't taste very good either. $5+ The picture before that on my three tacos that are bathed in cilantro. I love cilantro, but this was too much even for me. $13+ The the first three pictures are of the kids quesadilla meal. What little cheese was on there cheese wasn't even melted. My son took two bites and said it didn't taste good. Probably can't tell but my hands are really small and he took two bites out of it. It came with the scoop of rice and beans you see in the first photo, but for some reason they put a salad in it with Verde sauce and sour cream of which my son had no interest in. $6 (for just the quesadilla and beans so I guess I got a bonus lol)
