The porterhouse I ordered was okay. The ribeye my girlfriend ordrered was also okay. Nothing spectacular. Don't expect Peter lugers. The margarita my girlfriend ordered tasted like it came out of a premixed plastic container. Our server was a nice young lady who got up $35 tip for a $95 tab. Someone who works there (I believe the manager) followed me outside as I went get a breath of fresh air before we paid the tab and headed home. The manager or whoever it was (obviously not a server) followed me outside and began small talk. I thought he was just being friendly. I quickly came to find out that his reason for following me outside was to make sure that I wasn't going to skip out on the bill. Those were the exact words that came out of the manager's mouth. I was incensed to say the least. My girlfriend was still sitting at the table we just finished eating at while I took my stroll outside for a bit of fresh air. I sat right in front of the entrance to longhorns and went no further. I came back in and told my girl what had happened. Who would leave an other party you were eating and sitting with at the very table with plans of skipping out on a bill? Before paying the tab I strolled over to the gentleman that insinuated me. I asked him his name and told him in no uncertain terms that I was totally insulted by his accusation. He apologized but because of that incident we will never go back (the fact that the food is nothing to brag about figured into the fact that we never returned (and never will.) But the accusation was totally insulting. Tarantellas doesn't have a large choice of steak (I believe two steak choices) serves an incredible ribeye. Tarantella's Italian restaurant on route 70 absolutely blew away the ribeye I had at longhorns. We've been to tarantella's many times but never tried the steaks until after the incident at longhorns. I'm kind of glad the incident with the manager happened. Had it not i might have stuck to my Italian food orders when we go to tarantella's as opposed to a steak. If you think I'm being overly sensitive here's the kicker! I sustained an SCI injury and have been wheelchair-bound ever since. I'm not saying that a wheelchair-bound person has never skipped out on a bill before at any restaurant, but come on give me a break! the fact that my girlfriend was still sitting at the very table we ate at while I strolled outside for some air. That should've been a tip-off that we had no intentions of skipping out on the bill. We're not criminals. Just a New York City special education teacher for nearly 30 years and her boyfriend looking to enjoy a nice steak on a Saturday afternoon. I've never been accused of looking like a criminal or a thug in my life and have no idea what gave this gentleman the idea that I may have had intentions of skipping out on the bill. Sometimes bad things happen for good reasons. And the fact that I found tarantella's Italian restaurant to serve the best ribeye I've ever had in any southern New Jersey restaurant (and have eaten at dozens of restaurants in the southern New Jersey Philadelphia area since my 10-year relocation from NYC (to southern New Jersey) was absolutely the best thing to come out of the insensitivity of a longhorn manager. If you want the best ribeye or the other single steak choice that's offered by tarantella's please give them a try. You won't be disappointed. Not to mention there's so many more food choices at tarantella's. Me and my girlfriend shared the seafood combination as an appetizer and each had the amazing ribeye that is served at tarantella's. I'd like to thank the insensitive manager at longhorns for helping us to find the best ribeye in South Jersey. My two star rating did not include the insensitivity of the manager. My review was and is based purely on the food and drink that we had that day at longhorns. And not the insensitivity of a manager. Thank you. If you decide to go to LongHorns I certainly hope you have a much better experience food-wise then we did....
Read moreSo My daughter and I went there today for lunch. First of all it was only 1 waitress for like 9 tables.. We sat down and waited for about 10 minutes, the waitress comes over at that point and tells us that she will be with us in a moment. Now another 10-15 minutes has passed when she actually comes back and proceeds to take our order. We ordered our sodas and a appetizer which was buffalo wings..my daughter orders a small sirloin steak well done with no pink. I order a crispy chicken sandwich... We received our drinks and bread around 5 minutes later.. So now like 15 minutes go by before we receive the appetizer.. I received 1 drumstick out of all the other wings on the plate.. So maybe 15 minutes go by again and we receive our food. The steak was totally pink inside. We send it back. Now I’m waiting on ketchup to use to put on my sandwich, and after 10 minutes the waitress comes by asked me was my sandwich ok, I told her that I was waiting on ketchup..then she goes to get the ketchup. 5 minutes later she brings my daughter’s steak back out which is now burnt on the outside but still pink in the middle. The waitress says it’s medium well done (which is not her fault) so she takes the plate and says she will send over the manager.. Now 10 minutes go by and she comes back over and said the manager took it off the bill, but the manager never comes to the table..At that point my daughter wanted to leave so I ask for containers to box up my food. Now we are still there like 10 more minutes and the manager still never comes over.. We pay and leave the cash on the table. It clearly wasn’t the waitress fault about the wait but she never said I apologize about the wait or the food. I’ve begun to several restaurants and if there is a problem with any customers food the manager always comes over to the table.. I think it was very unprofessional., I never write reviews but I couldn’t help but to do this one., I will never return to that place, neither will any of my friends co-workers or family members. This place rates...
Read moreWe got seated. Waitress asked were we ready to order (no 5min please). She leaves and goes to table across from us (who has children) so we wait patiently, we know that it takes a minute to get orders in ect. 25min pass…we see bus boy bring food out to the table while our waitress is STILL talking and showing pics on her phone!😡
I get up and interrupt the conversation “we’re ready to order” she then says oh…okay. What!!!!!!!! How’d you forget to take our order and not only that, you’re at a table that wasn’t even yours to be waited on….(their actual waitress) for that table came over to the conversation🙄
She takes order and can tell I’m irked…and then asked did we need any A-1 sauce…NO! We didn’t order anything that required it, you can give us (2) take out containers.
(45min) without food now
Food finally comes, we lost our appetite. Check please. We receive the check 😳 $90….what! I look at it and guess what?!?! Can y’all guess??? She gave us someone else receipt.
My husband walked out because he was mad. I went up the front to speak to the manager however he was so busy correcting someone else’s issues and I then run into our waitress and I said, you charged us for things that we didn’t order. She said oh I must’ve gave you the wrong check….im irked “YOU DID”
She gives me our correct receipt $40. Literally stands next to me as if I’m giving you a tip…NO I’m not (I believe in tipping for good service). You lost that chance. Paid/walked out.
Sorry for the long story, I feel as though if she was paying attention, it would’ve been a better experience. I feel like this establishment is very busy but understaffed, which makes the customer experience horrible. I won’t...
