I had to pay as soon as i walked in which is not traditional in the least! Me and my friend were treated differently because we are not Caucasian. The waitress rushed me and my friend as we were eating our first plate. As i sat down with my second plate she was there again trying to rush me to eat the place closes at 9:30! I came straight after a long shift and that waitress was extremely rude! She does not belong serving tables! At 9 the waitress rushed me and my friend an the staff was putting the food away with customers still trying to fill plates. The food tasted like it was over a day old nothing was fresh and i couldn't eat half of the food i got because it was dry and tasted old it was utterly disgusting! Don't even trust the seafood! I went to grab shellfish and i smelt it about to take a bite and it was definitely spoiled. I was a chef for 12 years and also a manager in food service and OSHA certified this is not ok! If the place closes at 9:30 food is supposed to be served till that point not shut off a half hour early because you want to go home! I was referred to this place by a member at work and was disgusted by any and everything ! They need to fire the staff they have and hire people that understand OSHA PROTOCOL or people will get sick! I will not be referring anyone nor returning. I hope this review has people go elsewhere. If you want a waitress rushing you and interrupting your conversation this is the place. I was going to give the woman a $100 tip until she behaved in this manner due to her behavior she got $0! COLORISM IS NOT OK AND I CANNOT BELIEVE ME AND MY FRIEND HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS! We made the most out of it and laughed at the situation but we wont be referring a single one of the people we know due to the waitress the staff and the food that gets 0 stars. If i could give this place a 0 i would! Its a shame because i was excited to go because my Member at work recommended this place to me! Please get employees that understand how a place of business operates OSHA protocols and great customer service! The lady at the desk did not need to treat us like that either because im...
Read moreI don't normally leave comments but I feel like someone's life can depend on it. Besides the lackluster customer service and the communication barriers. I state this in all seriousness and in facts! To all with food allergy concerns If you value your life do not eat at ruby's buffet! I have a severe shellfish allergy Unfortunately The clams oysters Crawfishs are all mix Amongst non seafood items such as white rice Chicken and broccoli Cabbage. I was going for the general tso chicken but its Right next to the clams...that are Piled so high they were actually spilling over onto other food items around it.. So I respectfully told the young lady Who was servicing the station About the situation She looks at me as if I said something wrong or disrespectful .. Noticing the communication barrier I show her what I was referring to. She then says "no it's OK" and removes the clams from the tso chicken with the clam spoon 😱. So I explained though I think you have to take this whole thing out because someone can get very sick because of the cross contamination. She says something to the young man next to her in a different language and walks away for me😪 I communicate to the lady at the front desk that understood me What was going on she said "I'm going to bring you a personal plate ok ok" I refused any special treatment I'm believing saying it's OK this just needs to be changed out she refused and said it was alright and then felt uncomfortable to eat anything in anxiety Not knowing what other crazy things were going on in this building I sat there with the party I came with didn't enjoy anything and was very upset... Until I realized if I would have come 5 minutes later I probably would be dead or in the hospital Because of the seafood contamination... If you do decide to go be vigilant and vocal enjoy your meal hopefully it's not your last one! RUBY'S BUFFET PLZ DO BETTER THE PEOPLE OF CHERRY HILL...
Read moreI was going to give this place a 3 stars until I went to another buffet place, which I will call "Yellow-metal Ranch". Compared to the sodium festival I experienced there, Ruby buffet is a bargain, with plenty of variety. The food here is actually pretty darn good. My wife and I went to eat here, and joked that we could probably live inside the restaurant for quiet some time without becoming bored of the food. Staff are friendly enough, and although you may have to wait for some dishes while it comes out from the back, there are like over a hundred items on their menu. Their sushi bar offers fresh selection of
Will definitely be going back with the rest of the family. For the money, no other place beats Ruby buffet.
EDIT: OK changed it from 5 stars to 4, because of the sushi bar experience. Went back with family, and there were a limited pieces of tuna and salmon sushi. The 4 of us grabbed 2-3 pieces each, and went back, but the sushi chef had not replaced the pieces. Between all of us, we constantly checked and went back, but it was never replaced. I had tipped the chef first time around so he would be motivated to make more, but to no avail.
We were there around 2 p.m. for lunch, so there were not that many tables. From where we were sitting, we could see that everyone who went up to sushi bar were getting rolls, not sushi (nigiri). When we went a month ago, the same thing happened, and I was not paying attention, and the place was busy, so I figured that maybe the chef had made more nigiri but other diners had taken it very quickly. I will give this place one more chance, and if the same thing happens, then the rating will come down even further. If it doesn't, then the...
