First time we have ever eaten at the Chesapeake location. I ordered through Uber Eats and when I realized that I was missing a Philly steak I called and the lady said she didn't have my order. I had to tell her it was an Uber Eats order, I didn't know they had their own delivery drivers. Then, after I hung up the phone and they said they would deliver it (giving them two stars for doing that because they seemed under staffed but still brought the sandwich) I sat down to my dinner only to realize that instead of bacon in my calzone I had received broccoli! Not appealing at all in a calzone for me at least. When I called and told the lady, she said the order was for bacon and mushroom. This was not an error on my part, but someone at the restaurant mistaking the word bacon for the word broccoli Then my husband and son complained that their Philly steaks were supposed to have peppers and onions but in fact there was lettuce and tomato on them. Then, my daughter said that they had put cheese on her burger(which you have to request and pay extra for). I didn't want to pay for processed American cheese so I gave her a slice of cheddar to put on her burger which she did after scraping off the other cheese. The only person who got the correct food was my younger son who I had ordered a cheese pizza with pepperoni. Basically, we are never ordering from this...

Great place for ny style pizza, most of the time. Ive been a customer of this location about 25 years maybe more has changed hands like 4 times. Today's visit was a disappointment-I ordered lunch special to go 2-slices cheese pizza and drink. I asked the cashier to ask pizza maker to sprinkle parmesan and oregano on the slices before the were heated and make sure fresh and light. She brought them boxed to me then got cheese shaker from soda cooler and another oregano shake from a nearby table. I opened box too see too dark crisp slices-overly cooked and old looking. I was starved was a late lunch like 2;30, I should have complained bc once at home they looked even more unappealing and actually ended up throwing one away and only eating part of first slice. One I recommend crust needs some salt in the dough, 2-pie needs more saucing and finally cheese mixture needs parmesan , salt, pepper and oregano added pies of late maybe last year or so lacking in flavor overall.JKust fortunate other nearby pizzaria are not any good otherwise , we would be looking elsewhere for our pizza fix. Please fix it SAM. I'm gonna give you 5 stars for all the good slices/pies we have had rather than the 1/2 star this...

Sal's on North Battlefield has moved into what used to be the Pizza Vera location in Woodford Square Shopping Center across from the Chesapeake Hospital. After years of going to the old place I have to say it's great to have a pizza place in this location again.

If memory serves me right they just opened the doors about 4 maybe 5 weeks ago. They gutted the old place and built in a completely new modern kitchen and the dining room is still small and located in the front. It does seem a bit roomer now than previously.

The pizza is delicious with large NY Style slices and they'll put anything you want on them. The lunch special is the best. 2 slices with 1 topping and a bottomless fountain soda for $5. That includes the tax. There is also some variations on the lunch special as well, for example you can get one slice and a salad for the same price.

We've been there about once a week since they opened and are definitely fans....

4 Reviews in 1. Posting this on all 4 locations. I am originally from NY and had 3 NYers visiting from NY. We had a total of 7 taste testers for today's experiment. So with so many commercials and advertisement on "NY style" pizza we decided to have a taste off. Dominos, $12.31 (N Battlefield). Sal's, $20.15 (N Battlefield) Papa John's, $12.31 (S Battlefield) Ray's, $18.91 (Cedar Rd) Bottom line. The clear winner was Sal's, the clear loser was Ray's. We normally order Domino's (Cedar Rd) and can say we were all disappointed with this location. The NYers didn't think any of the pizzas looked NY style. Papa John's sauce was very sweet. Ray's was VERY salty. Sal's not only won the taste test, but also had the best feel of a NY pizza. Sal's was the most expensive but also the largest. Dominos and Papa John's were the same price. PJ was bigger, but Domino's offered 3 toppings.

Got a pizza by slice I ordered a meat lovers and go it and realized it looked like the cheese was added after the fact of being cooked and then a further inspection I realized it was. Premade pepperoni pizza that they added the extra toppings too so not entirely fresh I guess makes me upset though it would be a slice of meat lovers that was made to order buy they must have a pepperoni pizza just laying around to be added to if I would have gotten a veggie it probably would been a cheese with all the topping added after the fact but the fries are good and that made the visit worth it thanks for reading this is Josh
